Adam had decided to eat dinner with Charlie. He was sick and tired of being alone all the time. He wasn't expecting everyone else to show up for dinner too. Usually everyone ate on their own. Charlie had given Pentious and Angel the task to make dinner for everyone together as part of their "redemption" program shit.
Adam couldn't be more annoyed with this. He didn't want to eat with these fuckers. He hated most of them. Charlie sat at the head of the table. Made sense. She did own the place. Vaggie sat at her right, Alastor at the left. Adam was just about done with Vaggie always being so close with his wife. It didn't matter that he was moving out soon, probably. It didn't matter that Charlie was only married to him on paper. He was sick and tired of this adulterous wench getting in between him and the only person in this dump he could halfway stand.
He picked her up the scruff and set her at the end of the table. She had screeched at him and tried to claw his arm off, but thankfully contented herself to just glare when she was set back down. Alastor laughed. So he and Vaggie mutually didn't get along. Good to know even if that information was basically worthless to him.
He took the now empty seat at Charlie's right...directly across from Alastor. Alastor = murderer. Murderer across from him. Murderer next to wife! No. No this simply wouldn't do. Adam grabbed the back of Alastor's chair and dragged him to the back of the table. He had half a mind to put him in the living room, but he was too lazy. In Alastor's place he put a chair stacked on top of another chair. Now no one could sit there.
Alastor was giving him probably the most passive aggressive look he'd ever seen in his life. The dude insisted on smiling but his eyes couldn't be glaring harder.
"Ya got a problem, buddy? Do something about it! I dare you!" Adam challenged.
"Adam please." Charlie tugged on his sleeve to try and guide him to sit down. He snorted but did so. He very nearly started eating...but he wasn't satisfied yet. No. He was the man of the house. He should be at the head of the table.
He switched his and Charlie's seats. Oh great, but now she was next to the fucking porn star. Adam switched Angel with the stack of chairs. Better. Now he could actually eat. The food was alright. Nothing to write home about, but it was fine.

Alastor had not enjoyed dinner in the slightest. Adam's antics had been entertaining at first. It had been significantly less funny when Adam's attitude turned towards him. Alastor didn't mind that Adam didn't like him. He was curious as to why exactly, but it didn't offend him. However, Alastor was Charlie's business partner. He owned this hotel just as much as Charlie did, possibly more considering he was providing most of the funding behind it and all of the staff. Sitting at the end of the table in his own business? And next to his least favorite person no less?! This would not be forgiven.
Later though. There would be plenty of time to get back at him later.

Charlie was relieved that dinner hadn't gone any worse. She wouldn't say that it went well, but it could've been so much worse. She was proud of her friends for staying so level headed despite Adam's rude behavior and told them as much when he had finally gone to bed. Charlie never really cared about the seating charts that the sins took so seriously. There was no seating chart or hierarchy here at the Hazbin Hotel. However, it was really rude to move people around.
Charlie was somewhat grateful in a weird way for Adam's rotten behavior. She had very nearly started to feel bad for him after seeing him and her dad fight, but this reminded her who he was. Hidden suffering or not, he was not a nice man. His behavior at dinner tonight felt almost like confirmation from God or the heavens or some other higher power that he was not meant to be here. Any doubt in Charlie's mind that they needed to separate had dispersed.
