POV: your parents ship you off to Kitty Hawk because you've been sneaking out and hanging out with the Pogues too much

"Y/N..."

The whisper cuts through your dreams, stirring something deep within you. Your face scrunches, reluctant to wake up as rustling sounds and hushed voices seep into your consciousness.

"Psst... Y/N... where are you?"

One eye cracks open, then the other, your senses now alert. You hear faint shuffling, the quiet murmur of people peering over their beds. With a slow, cautious movement, you follow their gaze, curiosity tugging at you.

"Y/N... I know you're here."

That voice. You'd recognize it anywhere. Your heart skips a beat.

"JJ..."

You shoot upright, a rush of adrenaline flooding through you. You step out of your bed, your feet hitting the cold floor, and make your way into the narrow space between the bunk beds. There he is, standing in the dim light, a familiar presence you hadn't realized you were missing so much.

"JJ..." You breathe, your voice barely a whisper, still unsure if your eyes are deceiving you.

He grins, a mixture of relief and mischief in his eyes. "Hey, baby."

Before you can think, you find yourself running into his arms, the overwhelming comfort of his embrace enveloping you. His warmth, his strength—it feels like home.

"Don't ever let me go again," you murmur, your voice trembling with the weight of everything you've been holding in. You cling to him like you're afraid he might vanish, like this moment is a dream you could wake from at any second.

"I'm never leaving you again, Y/N," he reassures softly, his hand gently stroking your hair, grounding you in the reality of his words. His voice is steady, filled with nothing but certainty.

You close your eyes, sinking deeper into the safety of his arms. "Promise?"

"Promise," he whispers back, holding you just a little tighter.
