You arrive at a shed hidden in the woods of Goat Island, your bow slung over your shoulder, quiver loaded with arrows. You peer around the corner, assessing the situation. JJ is being held by a few sketchy guys, his hands tied behind his back, but he spots you and gives the faintest smirk.

Without hesitation, you notch an arrow, pulling back until the string's taut. You release, and the arrow thuds into the side of the shed, drawing the men's attention.

"What the—who's there?" one of them says, looking around wildly.

"I'd advise you let me go..." JJ says in a sing-song voice, confidence seeping back as he realizes you're here.

The men tense. "Who did you bring?" one of them growls, their eyes scanning the tree line.

You pull back another arrow, this time aiming carefully at one of the goons. With a precise release, the arrow finds its mark, hitting one of them in the shoulder. He staggers back with a cry of pain, clutching the wound as his grip on JJ loosens.

"Let him go," you call out, voice steady and commanding, your bow ready to fire again.

You keep your stance steady, heart pounding as the man cries out in pain, clutching his shoulder and stumbling back. The others whirl around, scanning the dark, trying to locate where the arrows are coming from.

One of them snarls, "Show yourself!"

You step forward into the sunlight filtering through the trees, drawing another arrow from your quiver and nocking it smoothly. Your voice is cold and steady. "Let him go. Now."

JJ grins, taking advantage of the momentary distraction to wriggle a bit against his restraints. "I told you, didn't I?" he says with a smirk. "She's not someone you want to mess with."

The men exchange wary glances, but one of them decides to test his luck, pulling a knife from his pocket. "Think we're scared of some girl with a bow?" he sneers, advancing toward you.

Without hesitating, you let another arrow fly, this one grazing his leg. He yelps, stumbling back, the arrogance in his expression crumbling. "Who... who the hell are you?"

"That's the second warning," you say coolly, drawing a third arrow. "Just know, the next time I won't miss. And I never have."

One of them hesitates, then grabs JJ by the collar, growling in his face. "You think she can take all of us?"

JJ raises an eyebrow, glancing back at you with a glint of mischief in his eye. "Buddy, I wouldn't bet on it."

"You can try. I got all day." You taunt.

Before anyone can move, you loose another arrow, this one hitting the ground inches from the guy's foot. He flinches, visibly shaken.

"This is your last chance," you say firmly, keeping your bow drawn. "Let him go, and get off this island. Now."

Finally, the men seem to realize the odds aren't in their favor. With a string of curses, they release JJ and start to back away, keeping a wary eye on you as they make their retreat into the trees.

As soon as they're out of sight, you lower your bow and make your way over to JJ, who's rubbing his wrists and grinning from ear to ear.

"Cutting it a little close, don't you think?" he says, looking at you with that familiar glint of gratitude and awe.

You roll your eyes, smirking. "Do I have to save you every time Maybank?"

"Nice to see you too, Princess." JJ's smirk widens as he watches you lower your bow, his eyes lingering a little longer than usual.

He takes a step closer, his voice dropping to that playful, low tone he reserves just for you. "You know, for someone who pretends to be annoyed by me, you sure showed up pretty quick. Almost like you couldn't stand the thought of me in trouble."

You scoff, though your heart betrays you with a quickened beat. "Maybe I just didn't want to deal with the aftermath if you got yourself killed."

He chuckles, inching even closer until there's barely any space between you. His gaze flicks to your lips, lingering, before his eyes meet yours again. "Or maybe, you just like being my knight in shining armor. Saving the reckless, handsome, helpless guy and all that."

Your smirk matches his as you meet his teasing look head-on. "Helpless? Don't push your luck, Maybank. I could leave you tied up again next time, you know."

"Oh yeah?" he murmurs, his voice softer now, but still laced with that flirtatious edge. His fingers brush lightly over yours as he lifts your hand, examining the faint callouses on your fingertips from all the hours with your bow. "Well, if you ever did, I'd just have to come find you, Princess. Something tells me you'd miss me if I didn't."

He tilts his head, eyes tracing every inch of your face as though he's memorizing it, and his voice drops to a whisper. "Tell me I'm wrong."

For a moment, all you can hear is the soft rustle of leaves around you, the night closing in as if it's just the two of you here. You bite your lip, struggling to hold back a smile. "Maybe I would miss you. A little."

The confession hangs in the air, vulnerable but electric, and he grins, his hand still resting over yours. Without another word, he leans in, his lips brushing yours, slow and tentative at first, like he's savoring every second. You kiss him back, your hands sliding up to rest against his chest, feeling his heartbeat thundering just as wildly as yours.

When you finally pull back, breathless, he just looks at you, his grin softening. "Guess it's good I got myself into trouble after all."

You roll your eyes, but the smile stays on your face. "Guess I'll have to save you next time too, then."

"Deal."
