"Hey Castiel" Sam whispered as he glanced over to Castiel, who was in his usual position watching the boys as they slept.
"Yes Sam?"
"Uh. I can't sleep. So I was thinking that we could watch some lame cartoons or whatever."
Sam began to sit up to get a better view of the beautiful angel.
"Uh. Sure Sam." Castiels voice hinted at confusion but he didn't question Sam.
Sam got out of bed quietly not to wake Dean. Once he was standing he looked at Deans bed only to find it empty.
"He went to a bar. Something about sad girls."
"Oh, today's Valentine's day. I completely forgot. I was so caught up in ganking the nest of vampires. Its not like it matters anyway." Sam replied turning on the tv. "So Cas what do you wanna watch?"
"The one with the bunny that speaks." Castiel responded.
"Looney tunes? Good choice." Sam replied switching to Looney tunes.
Sam sat back on the couch. He often caught himself staring at Cas. He couldn't help it. Castiel was so concentrated on the cartoon. Sam let out a chuckle.
"Sam? I don't understand. Does everyone in this show have PhD? He keeps calling them 'doc'. Which is doctor shorten."
Sam couldn't help but laugh. He loved spending time with Castiel. His childlike wonder gave Sam a break from the usual chaos of his life. Sam began to get lost in his train of thoughts. I just wish he'd give me a chance. I'd actually be with him unlike Dean. Why does he have to like Dean?? Well he never said he liked him. Just that "they shared a profound bond". I've always had bad luck with relationships in the past, but this time could be different. Cas was unlike any of the others. He was perfect.
"Sam? Are you okay? You're being unusually quiet." Castiel asked confused
"Yea just thinking." Sam replied, not wanting to explain it any further.
"Sam. Do people not like to be around me anymore? Is it because I don't understand anything?" Castiel asked sounding surprisingly sad.
"What? Cas nooo. I don't know about everyone, but I know about me. And I love being around you. I love to help you learn new things about humans. It's fun and makes me feel good."
Sam replied, his tone saddening at the thought of Castiel hating himself. I wish I could just show him how I felt. Sam thought.
"Thank you Sam." Castiel replied moving closer to Sam.
"Its no problem angel." Sam replied using his nickname for Cas. Sam noticed how close Cas was, but he didn't want him to move. He wanted to stare into his eyes all night.
"Sam? Why are you so nice to me? You're nicer than Dean."
Sam sucked in his breath deciding it'd be easier to show him. He leaned into Cas and began to kiss him. He kissed him lightly, he made it to where if Cas wanted it to stop, it would. But Cas didn't seem to want it to stop. Sam pulled away. He looked at Cas with loving eyes.
"I think I'm finally ready to sleep. Wanna come with angel?"
"Sam you know I dont sleep."
"That's alright. You can come cuddle with me."
Sam fell asleep with Castiel wrapped in his arms. When Dean finally came home at four in the morning, he looked over at the two and smiled.
"Finally Sammy. We all got tired of waiting."
"Shut up Dean." Sam replied his voice muffled behind Castiel's hair.
