The morning sun barely made it through the thick clouds around The School for Evil. A familiar morning sat in Lesso's classroom. How she'd spend her mornings since she had started school. The schedule didn't differ on the day or week, it stayed the same everyday. Making it ever so boring. Ana was sat at her desk. Carving useless crap into her desk made of ice. Lesso had clearly either not noticed or not cared as she continued to ramble on about what she was teaching. Yet Ana paid no attention to the lesson. Her head was filled with murmur. It was the blood magic speaking to her. They whispered unable for her to hear, she was only able to make out a few words. Other times it yelled, giving her a fright. There was no in between. She sat there and she didn't exactly hide the distress she had this morning. Most of the students around her just thought she was tired and the jump was her waking back up. With exams coming up soon they were all staying up to study or practice magic. They figured she was doing the same thing they were. Yet Lady Lesso had other ideas. She watched Ana through her lecture with her head in her desk. She did in fact see Ana carving shapes into the desk but she didn't care as her current state began to worry her. She attempted to read her mind as the students did their written work on this lessons topic, Runes and Wards. Yet she somehow couldn't get through, she was stunned. How could a students magic out weigh her own? Most importantly. Whats going on in her mind that she doesn't want her to see.

"Ok, so to recap. Wards are what?" Lesso's voice sounded, giving every student in the class a scare. All headed followed her voice almost immediately to the front of the classroom. All but Ana's. Lesso scanned the room of raised hands before picking a boy in the back corner.

"A ward will protect someone from a certain type of magic, whether good or evil. It's meant to be used in a space or on a person. It can either inhabit magical abilities or can create almost like an energy shield. Yet it can not be used in battle as it takes too long to cast," He spoke like he was reading from a book. Yet he wasn't wrong.

"Delightful, and how do you cast one?" Lesso scanned the room once again. Hands shot up ready with the answer but she didn't pick any of them. "Ana?"

"Hmm," She responded quickly looking up. She hadn't even heard the question her professor had asked her. "Sorry?"

"Someone hasn't been paying attention. How do you cast a ward?" She repeated clearly frustrated that Ana hadn't been listening to a word she'd been saying for the past hour.

"Erm..." Ana spoke not knowing how to answer the question. She looked at her classmates for help but none of them did. Most snickered at her others just looked bored. The silence was long and deafening "I don't know,"

"Well pay close attention next time. Then maybe you might get it," Lesso coldly replied before point to a girl in the front row. "You,"

Ana's head went back down as the girl answered "It takes a lot of energy. It isn't ritual but it is not a simple spell either. It takes time to perfect and can take anywhere from 10-30 minute to conjure,"

Ana rolled her eyes as she took her pen knife and continued to carve into her desk. She wasn't sure what she was carving as it was just a bunch of scratch marks but it was more entertaining then any of this.

"What about a rune? And how do you cast it?" Lesso asked before again a sea of hands appeared. "Yes,"

She pointed at Chris who's eye had in fact healed. Completely! Lesso hadn't noticed till now because she made an attempt to cover it with her long hair. Lesso's face almost moved into a state of shock "A rune is a spell you can cast usually by drawing one. There are specific runes but you can make your own, with enough intention. It is mainly to inhabit anyone from using their magic and they are cast in a space. It can be cast on a person but it is more unlikely,"

"Thank you Chris," Lesso said in a tone of which everyone was unsure of. I couldn't even describe it. It left an odd taste in everyone's mouth. "Ok, well how about a pop quiz to make sure you have all understood this,"

The whole class erupted into disarray at the mention of a pop quiz. Lesso's hands glowed a purple hue before the pile of quiz's started to hand themselves out. One settled onto Ana's desk as she looked at it she rolled her eyes. This women is truly evil. She reached for her quill knowing she would fail this. She let out a huff before opening the paper and reading the first question. What is a Rune? Chris had just answered this how can I not remember?

It was then a voice sounded in Ana's head. It wasn't the spirit's voice, it must be the magic. "It is a spell to cast in a space to inhabit magic,"

Ana began writing what the spirit says. As I turned the pages the questions got increasingly harder. For example:

Please give an example of three spells in Latin

Yet the voice did not disappoint, yet got progressively bored with Ana asking how to spell the words she was writing. He was angry because yes everyone was definitely fluent in Latin. Scribbling down like a mad man and not before long she was finished. She realized she had beaten everyone in finishing the quiz as she looked around. Not one head followed hers up, but as her head turned towards the front she was met with Lady Lesso's gaze.

"Finished already, Ana?" She remarked as she did not believe what she was seeing. Lesso's quizzes and tests were famous for being exceedingly difficult and for someone to finish so quickly made her believe this test was going to be an interesting one to mark.

"Yes I have Lady Lesso," Ana said matching her professors tone.

"Bring it here. I'll mark it so you can have your grade right now," Lady Lesso said. Everyone must think oh how nice but wrong. Lesso wanted to prove she had rushed this quiz and make an example out of her. Lesso hated people who didn't even try when they knew they were bound to fail. Ana rose from her desk and walked towards the front of the class. She set her paper down on Lesso's desk before going to leave "Stay here, This will not take long,"

Ana awkwardly did as she was asked. A few heads popped up to look at her. All snickering knowing she had probably failed as she had spent no long then 10 minutes on it. Yes a pop quiz is meant to be short but Lesso didn't exactly get the memo on that one. Lesso began marking in red ink as she passed the easiest questions on the paper. Ticking as she went. She knew the easy questions Ana would've gotten easily but they were only the first four questions. Lesso was certain the rest would certainly catch her out.

Lesso flipped the pages ticking as she went and correcting spelling. Even though Ana had the voice tell her every letter the murmur in the background made it hard to hear them sometimes. Yet as Lesso got to the end of the paper she got more confused. Ana got them all correct, she must have cheated. As she marked the last question, her eyes narrowed before looking up at Ana.

"I would like remind you that cheating is strictly prohibited," She said in her familiar stern tone.

"I didn't cheat," Ana spoke unbothered by the accusation "Maybe you should make your quizzes more challenging,"

More challenging

Those two words continued to repeat in her head. More challeng- Challenging? Challenging!? Ana was definitely looking for a fight and as Lesso looked at her she saw something she had never seen before. Her usual blue-ish green eyes had a hint of red in them. Lesso's jaw clenched, what could that be?

"100%. Go sit down," Lesso plainly said. She needed to tell Clarissa about this but wondered if she'd even care. She hadn't been herself and even after she ended their fling she had become a whole new person. She was mindlessly going about her schedule with less Clarissa essence. She had begun to make remarks that the Dovey knew would be applaud by. Along with that she no longer had the passion Clarissa had for teaching, spreading love and just being her. She stayed quiet as Ana took her seat still looking her eyes to see the red she did a minute ago.

Something is wrong very wrong indeed.
