The group presented Ana to Rhian. Attempting to distract him long enough so they could make their move. Hester and Sophie had separated from the group to find their friends to include them in their plan. You could see them as they all got ready to attack. Ana, on the other hand, could see the whole school fighting but it didn't matter because Rhian's eyes locked into hers. She felt the familiar heavy feeling in her head.
"That's really the best plan you have?" Rhian shouted up to the balcony amused the the students attempt.
"Yes actually," Jay replied. It was clear he was quite proud of his idea.
"I applaud your efforts but release her now," Rhian requested smirking
"Why would we do that?" Chris yelled back as she held Ana in place from escaping "She is what you need to win, right?"
"Oh please I don't need her to win. This is the easy part," Rhian laughed again before locking eyes with the silver haired girl. "Besides I could always get a new one. A Never wanting to be an Ever, it's more common then you think you know,"
"What?" Ana grumbled through her gag immediately hurt but his statement. That's what she meant to him. She was in no way like Sophie and had fallen in love with him just he was still someone she trusted and she had just been blown off. In the most casual way possible.
"Now, I said release her," Rhian's eyes glowed bright red and as they did the group could no longer control their bodies. They untied Ana and after she was free the groups mind control dissolved till they were finally able to control their bodies again.
"Oh you've got to be joking," Hazel muttered before Ana's hands glowed with the fire coming from them. A new rage run through her. A rage to kill anyone. She just been dismissed by the one person she thought she could trust. She could trust no one.
"Well that was a good plan. Right Jay?" Chris spat as her eyes didn't leave Ana's glowing red ones.
"I didn't know he would do... that," he protested as magic came hurling towards them. They all looked at each other for answers but they had none so they all yelled "Run!"
They ran through the halls as Ana followed, throwing magic trying to deter them from their path. They turned corners with fire balls barely missing their heads. Other paths she had successfully deterred them from as they had to change their course. They ended up having to take a longer way to get down stairs. They ran down the stairs, trying not to slip in their Ever shoes, before they got back to the hall. The sound of screams and magic flying everywhere was deafening.
"What do we do now?" Hazel yelled above the echoing of the hall. It was then Chris' eyes widened as a smirk settled on her face. She had a plan. A risky one but a plan.
"Distract her. I have a plan," She told the group as they nodded. They would've asked more questions normally but this time there was little time to do so.
Ana turned the corner into the hall and as she did she barely had time to react to Hort's werewolf form charging at her. She sidestepped out of the way sending him tumbling into a cabinet just outside the hall. She turned her head towards the chaos seeing her fellow classmates, some fighting Rhian too. Hester's dragon tormented the man as Dot threw chocolate bombs at him. The bugs, Sophie had now learnt to manipulate, were also attacking his leg as they crawled up one. Biting and stinging. Yet their efforts didn't matter as with a flick of his wrist they all went flying.
Raven came at the girl while she was distracted with her double edged sword. She swung at Ana only able to get a few scratches in before Ana had had enough and flicked her wrist and Ravens body was held up with blood magic circling around her. Her sword dropped to the floor as she struggled. Ana squeezed her fist tighter as the magic suffocated her. Raven screamed "Help!"
The rest of them heard, trying to fight the shadow knights faster to save their friend but none of them could make it in time. As Ana's hand rotated Raven's neck made a sharp snap sound before her limp body dropped to the cold floor.
"NOOOOO!" Chris and Hazel yelled in sync. Hazel rushed to the girls body while Chris still tried to conjure her plan. Yet it didn't take long now as she had the emotion to fuel the connection. She used her special talent to get through to the only person who would talk sense into the girl. Gregor.
"Ana!" Gregor's voice yelled as her head shot round attempting to see where the voice had come from. She didn't need to look for long as Gregor appeared in front of her. He was no longer a solid figure. He was pretty much see through and had a blue hue all over. "What is going on?"
"Gregor?" Her voice cracked as she looked to the boy. Tears in her eyes she froze. Her world went into slow motion. Her brother was beside her, her best friend.
"What are you doing?" He spoke appalled with what Ana had done.
"Restoring t-the balance. It's for the good of the world," she tried to plead but it was no use.
"What good are you doing killing people? That's not good," He argued back. Ana's tears started to fall as her head spun round to Rhian who was still fighting off students. He was right, the writer was right and she didn't see it. She didn't want to believe it. Something in her decided that for her. She saw Raven's body as she looked around the room at what she'd caused. She hadn't even processed what she had actually done. Raven died because of her.
"What have I done?" She muttered to herself but Gregor heard her
"I don't know but you need to fix this. Before anyone else dies. Please Ana," He pleaded and as he did Ana nodded at his words "Make me proud, sister,"
With that his ghost faded away until nothing was there to prove he was ever there. Ana cried, really cried. Chris wanted to comfort her but after the death of her friend she also shed a few tears that she'd never admit to later.
Ana made her way over to her friends body. It had already grown cold. Raven's normally bright green skin had faded to a more mint green. Her eyes, still open, stared up at Ana. Ana kneeled beside the girl as tears fell from her eyes.
"Raven I am so sorry," she cried uglier then she ever had. She'd never killed someone before and she never wanted to again. She closed the girls eyes gently before kissing her forehead. "I am going to fix this. For you. For Raven,"
It was then Ana knew what to do. She had to stop this. She may want to be an Ever but she wasn't one. She had to face that. She was a Never and she was letting her people die. She wiped her tears from her face and got up. This had to end now.
