Ana happily skipped back to her dorm after dinner. Not necessarily full from her gourmet meal of chicken heads, gruel and some mouldy bread. Yet she had gotten used to eating the foods. She couldn't wait for Christmas break and to be back in her family home, eating the foods she loved again and finally seeing Lyra again. Along with that she happily glanced at her ranking in a grimy mirror as she walked past it. It boldly read 14th for everyone to see. One more day of classes and she'd definitely be in the top 10, maybe further!

She continued to skip along till she got to her dorm. As she finished her dinner early the room was empty. Quiet. It was a refreshing thing the castle is always so chaotic that the quiet has become quite nice to have once in a while. She stared at the open space for a moment and breathing deeply to calm herself. She had a goal, get in the top 10 by tomorrow. No one could stop her, well bar this extensive amount of homework she got given that day. Yet she was determined to get it done and move up the ranks.

She walked through the room to the end where her desk was sat. She admired her homework with disgust yet despite her better judgment started her homework. She started on her research for Uglification class, fashion. How what you wear can determine how evil you I'm not sure but an assignment is an assignment.

Not before long Ana started to feel a chill, a cold breeze brush against her back. She swiped her head around to see a window wide open. The tattered curtain blowing in the wind. Ana looked puzzled and examined the room for someone but it was empty. She stood and walked over cautiously still looking around the room. When Ana got to the window she poked her head out of it. She couldn't see anyone but the breeze was so calming. The soft night breeze was so peaceful until it was not so peaceful anymore.

Hands grabbed Ana's waist and pushed her out of the window. Only the grab her ankle to dangle her out of the window. Ana screamed and tried to find something she could hold onto but even if she did she would be able to reach it. She was dangling helplessly as her head tilted upwards to see the spirit. This time merging into something or someone she could actually make out. Yet due to her current situation his feature were blurred and well... upside down.

Before another thought crossed Ana's mind she was whisked away, back inside the room. She was safely put back on her two feet and backed up away from the window. As she did the figure became more clear. Its piercing blue eyes caught her eye straight away. Then her eyes migrated to its white hair which complimented its dark skin. Its dark coat laced with both silver and gold embroidery. It... he was beautiful like really fucking beautiful.

"I'm flattered you think that way," The spirit said as Ana's eyes widened.

"No that's not what I- sorry but why have you been slivering around the castle like that when you look like?" Ana stuttered out "Also did you really need to do the whole window thing?!"

"Keep your voice down, I'm now being very much investigated by both heads of the schools. I would rather them not know I'm here," It spoke in a smooth well spoken voice. Not as it had been speaking before. "Also it was to get your attention,"

"Well you have it," Ana said slightly annoyed.

"I can see you have not been using my gift," The spirit started before cutting off Ana before she could talk "I can see everything, I know every move you make and every spell you cast. Yet you are failing to use the gift I so kindly bestowed on you,"

"I wouldn't call it a gift. It's turning me into a bitch," Ana argued getting angry "See I'm getting angry now and it's because of this stupid thing. It's like it's boiling inside of me constantly"

"You didn't seem angry a minute ago," The spirit muttered

"That's before you showed up," Ana told the spirit "I was calm and collected and now I'm ready to- to- to kill someone,"

"Yes! That's the spirit,"

Ana took a second to look at the spirit and formed her next words wisely "Yes? That's the spirit? Are you out of your mind!" She searched the spirits face for an answer and got it "ok don't answer that,"

"I'm just saying this magic, this power" it said as it conjured up a little bit of the magic as it played with the magic in its hand "As I said before people will fall before you if you know how to use it. But you clearly don't like the gift. I just- I worked so hard to get it for you after learning for your great power and your families power. I thought it would be up to your standard but it's clearly not up to princess standard,"

"It's not nothing to do with my standards or anything. It's just-" Ana took a deep breath before her next sentence and held the spirits hand "Imma hold your hand while I say this, killing people is not ok,"

"Never said you had to kill anyone I was just merely trying to hype you up to use your power," it said before pumping more of its magic into Ana. Not letting her go until she had at least two times more than she did last time. Her body absorbed it. Like last time it suffocated her. Twisting tightly to her arms, neck and chest. It covered her so much she tried to let go but his grip was too strong. "Just a bit more. Then you will be able to get to that spot you need for the trials."

Ana struggled before letting out "I don't want anymore!"

Thankfully for Ana there was a swift knock at the door and the spirit finally let go of Ana's hand. Letting her collapse to the floor with force. She got up as another knock sounded yet when she did the spirit has vanished. She looked around and the window was closed shut. Another knock sounded before Ana yelled "I'm coming Jesus Christ stop knocking!"

Ana opened the door to see Chris "Thankfully you opened the door it's doing the weird not opening thing again," Chris said before noticing Ana's state. She looked paler, her hair had almost grown longer and darker. A shade or two off black. "Are you ok? Did you dye your hair?"

"No I didn't dye my hair what are you talking about?" Ana shot back before walking back to her desk in the corner of the room.

"Alright no need to get bitchy with me. It's just a question. I know how much you love your hair anyway," Chris joking said before diving into her bed. Expecting a response she waited but no response followed. Confused her head shot up and watched as Ana continued writing. Chris shrugged and fell asleep unbothered by Ana's response
