The gunshot echoed through the room, loud and final, ringing in my ears and making everything feel like it was spinning.

I couldn't even think straight. My body was screaming in pain, and every breath felt like fire.

Julian was by my side in an instant, kneeling down with that panicked look on his face I knew all too well.

His hands hovered over me for a second, like he didn't know where to start, before he noticed the blood pouring from my thigh.

"Shit, baby," he muttered, his voice thick with anger and worry.

He grabbed the hem of my shirt and tore a piece off, quickly wrapping it around the wound to slow the bleeding.

I could see the frustration in his eyes—he was trying to stay calm, but I could tell he was freaking out inside.

"He stabbed me," I whispered weakly, my voice trembling.

Tears were streaming down my face.

I didn't even realize I was crying until Julian's hand brushed my cheek, his touch so gentle it made me want to cry harder.

"I know, I know," Julian said, his jaw clenched tight. He cursed under his breath, his hands moving quickly as he tied the makeshift bandage tighter. "Just hold on for me, okay? I've got you."

Matteo crouched down beside him, his gun still in his hand, eyes darting toward the door every few seconds.

"She's losing a lot of blood," Matteo said, his voice urgent but steady. "We need to get her out of here. I'll cover you."

Julian nodded, but I could see the hesitation in his eyes. "You sure?" he asked, his tone low but serious.

Matteo looked at him like he was insane. "Go, Julian. I'll hold them off. Just get her out of here before she passes out or worse."

Julian looked down at me, his face softening for just a second.

"I'm not gonna let anything happen to you, okay?" he said, his voice breaking a little. "Stay with me, baby. I'm getting you out of here."

I nodded weakly, though I wasn't sure how much longer I could stay conscious. My vision was starting to blur, and my head felt heavy.

"Julian," I mumbled, my voice barely audible.

"Mhm?" he asked, leaning closer.

"Don't leave me," I whispered, tears slipping down my cheeks.

His expression hardened, and he shook his head. "Never. You're stuck with me, got it?" He leaned down and kissed my forehead softly, his lips lingering for a moment before he pulled back.

"Let's go," Matteo said, standing up and aiming his gun at the door.

Julian slipped one arm under my legs and the other around my back, lifting me like I weighed nothing.
