A Sad Attempt

A midnight kiss

In the afternoon,

You breathe in a shallow breath

As the birds, they swoon

The bright red moon glows radiant in the sky

As the darkness of the sun

Blinds the naked eye

No shade from the darkness

That consumes all the fields,

No hiding from the monsters

That the shadows continuously wield

No fire or teeth or claws to fight you

yet scars and burns and marks

Hang tight to

A body that's bruised

And a soul that's misused.

A heart full to brim of contempt

Towards the cards you were fed

Perfectly equated this sad attempt

Which, though you remain alive, left you dead.
