"Like I was saying, Ed, don't you know what day it is??!" Mustang asked.
I thought, but I had no clue. Neither did Ed.
Ed looked at me with a blank stare.
"I don't know." Ed confessed, confused.
At that moment, the front door swung open.
"Happy birthday, brother!!!" Al shouted.
"oh yeeeeaahhh!!" I said, at last remembering. I clapped my hands in sudden realisation.
"there we go..." Hawkeye said quietly to the colonial. Mustang just smiled.
Ed was stunned and then he grinning from embarrassment.
"hehehe... Oh yeah..." He scratched the back of his head and grinned again.
"Oh Ed, don't act like it's nothing!" I told him. I haven't seen him in 6 years and yet he came just in time for his birthday.
"Here you go, brother!" Al extended his metal armour hand holding a neatly wrapped box the size of a lunchbox.
I quickly snatched it out of Al's hand before Ed could grab it.
"WHAT THE HELL WINRY!"
"No presents until the party tonight" I said, grinning to myself.
"There's a party??!" Ed and Al said at the same time.
"Well what did you expect? I haven't seen you in 6 years and you don't think I'll prepare a party?" I laughed to myself. "I've been planning since the day you came, Ed!" I lied.
"Wait but you didn't remember either until – " I cut Ed off.
"Colonial Mustang, Lieutenant Hawkeye, would you like something to drink?"
