!! Trigger Warning !! Kidnapping.

···

Some people said there would be a storm tonight, which would wash away all the snow that took days to compile, making kids happy. Families with the right mind are boarding up their houses before hiding inside to wait out the storm. My dad was boarding up before he needed to get some more nails; only texted me, saying he'd be back. I understand that he's trying to give me space for what had happened a few days prior, and only yesterday did Yīkào break out of jail, but I'm not afraid anymore. Or at least I think I am...

"ADAM!!" the thud on the window made me jump, thinking it was Yīkào again, but it was just Amber and some woman behind her; holding a spear. Odd. I went to the front door to let her in after staring at her through the window for an eternity. It was already beginning to rain outside, hope my dad comes back home soon.

"Everything okay Amber?" it wasn't like her to just appear out of nowhere, especially without warning me 5 minutes in advance.

"I had to get away from that man. Every two seconds he speaks about something that I don't know the answer to..." she rambled on about something that was incoherent and fast worded.

I looked over at the woman who looked semi-confused but her face seemed cold, but able to put a smile on anyone's face without failure. Over the course of the few days, I feel I've gone insane... in ways... I've been observing more and always on top of things. My dad even put my new schedule in place, so I always have something to do instead of sitting around and stare at paint drying on the shed. I don't feel angsty like Amber was for weeks on end when Isabella died; still a sad death and tragedy. In all fairness, I never knew Isabella all that well, and the speech she provided made her sound like a completely different person.

"Can you explain to me what's happened in the last few days...?"

"Oh, shit, I haven't told you..." covering her mouth in shock before awkwardly rubbing the back of her head. From my vision, it seems like she's gone through hell, but I'll let her explain. "Isabella has monster organisation thing that's been going on for too many years- like when cars first came into place. Slight problem though, I encountered her butler- he calls me Master 24/7- and I'm now posing the position of Isabella even though she's..." I understood the last part. The woman came up to Amber and soothed her arm. This woman must be on her side of things to not be killing her at the sight. "T-This is Jeontu... basically Isa-b-bella's bodyguard," hanging her head, trying not to cry and the thought of seeing her body again. She ended up crying because sulking through more words. "I-I just needed to get away... I-I'm sorry that I came to you, Adam- I-I just-"

"Don't be apologetic, we both need a shoulder to rest on at the moment," putting my hand on top of hers, trying to comfort her, but I felt like it just made things awkward... I could see why. "J-Jeontu, there should be some hot chocolate pouches. Can you go make some for us?" she nodded and left us be. I hoped she knew how to make one. The door rustled open before I could speak again to Amber. She pulled away her hand.

"Oh, I didn't know you bought company," placing some bangs on the counter, eyeing the spear and the woman. Hopefully, he wouldn't be angry.

"Sorry it's my fault we should just-"

"No! Stay. The storms coming later anyway and you said you wanted to get away, no?" she looked at me again as I held her waist, tear stricken eyes.

"Kid, take Amber upstairs. I still need to board things up," Jeontu offered to assist; and my dad couldn't say no, so I took Amber to my room and wrapped both of us in a fluffy blanket on my bed.

"T-Thank you I... really appreciate it..." wiping her eyes with finger and sleeve, Isabella's jacket. It seems Amber changed into wearing Isabella's clothes. She must really miss her...
