"I thought they were on good terms?" The Flash whispered as he leaned into Green Lantern's side, eyeing Batman who was glaring daggers at Superman.

"Maybe someone else pissed him off. I mean, look at the Big guy" Hal shrugged as he nodded towards Clark and sure enough, Barry shifted his gaze to look at him, only to see a child-like expression on him. A child who looked like he has successfully pissed off his parents and was super proud of what he had done.

Superman being Superman, gave Barry a side eye and the speedster visibly flinched, being caught staring. Clark only chuckled as he saw Barry all flustered, pretending to flip through some papers that lied around on the table.

It felt weird, just a few days ago, every single one of them were walking on eggshells, wondering when a fight would break out between the strongest among them. But right now everything seems like a silly past.

Eventually, Batman briefed them on all the affairs regarding Earth and it seemed there were no major conflicts.

No clowns trying to blow up the planet, No businessmen trying to dispatch some nuclear weapons, no aliens trying to invade .... For once everything felt peaceful and it seemed like they could all finally take a break.

And of course, Hal had to ask the Bat just that.

"Why don't we all go on a vacation? As friends?" He gave Batman a quick glance and corrected himself. "Or colleagues, you know"

Batman just let out a grunt.

"That is a wonderful idea" Wonder Woman looked at Batman with expectant eyes.

Batman's face didn't show what he was thinking. "Something might happen if we let our guard down. We don't have the privilege to enjoy ourselves. We need to stay alert at all times"

Without even bothering to take a second glance, he walked out on them and everyone sighed exasperatedly.

"Why does he have to be such a bummer!" Barry whined and Hal patted him on his back. "Superman, do something"

Superman knew there was no convincing him. But him being the last ray of hope, couldn't bring himself to tell them that.

"Let me talk to him" He got up from his seat with a swift motion and rushed to the zetas after Batman.
