Superman sat on a chair beside the medical bed as he watched Batman's form that lied on it. The guy looked so relaxed and he couldn't look anymore humane. Worse, Superman could now clearly see the guy's resemblance to his best friend.
He still couldn't be sure if he was hearing things. Superman had told the leaguers to just leave the both of them be and that he could take care of him just fine. Everyone had left after he made sure to let them know if anything went sideways.
At some point, just to make sure, Superman had tried removing Batman's cowl, only to recoil back by the electric shock it gave him.
Superman heaved a heavy sigh as he watched Batman's bodh rise and fall with every breath he took. The medication he had given him might have eased him up a bit.
"Seriously, Bruce..." He muttered out , rubbing his temple, "If it really is you under that mask, I am going to kill you. I'm sure Alfred would understand"
He couldn't see why Bruce would hide something so important from him. He suddenly remembered how Batman had become less arrogant towards him since that day he saw that pendant on him. The pendant Bruce gave him.
They could have been the dynamic duo of superheroes. They could have done a lot of great things together. He remembered all the conversations he had had with him about all these superheroes, how they had talked about it like they had nothing to do with it.
He had to admit that Bruce was doing a great job at keeping his secret. Who would have thought that this asshole pointy ears and the guy runs to everytime he gets a break is actually the same person?
A sudden thought popped up in his head and Superman's head jolted up. Does Alfred know?
Superman heaved another heavy sigh as he got up from his chair and walked over to Batman's side. He leaned in and planted a soft kiss on his forehead. "I'm going to beat the living soul out of you the next time we meet. If you remember this day, you can suffer in silence. If you don't, you'll never know where the beating came from"
With that, he left the room and got into the zetas. He didn't want to be there when Batman woke up. He needed some time to let all of this sink in before he can go back and take it out on that guy.
He punched in the coordinated to Metropolis and in no time, he was gone.

Batman's eyes fluttered open and he sprang up. "What--" he remembered coming to the watchtower and walking into the meeting room. How on earth was he in medical room?
He realised his fever had gone down. He suddenly felt his face to see if his cowl was still on and a sigh of relief escaped his lips when he saw it was in place.
He got up on his feet and did a little stretch, mumbling to himself, "Who dragged me in here anyway?..."
However , he decided it was a matter he could think about later. He really craved to have some of Alfred's food. He briskly walked to the zetas and left the place, all while having no idea what was waiting in store for him.
