Clark stared at his computer screen, his hands failed to move and his eyes didn't seem to get tired as he stared without blinking, his mind racing with a million unorganised thoughts.

"Smallville!" Lois snapped her fingers in front of Clark's face and he heaved a heavy sigh, swivelling around in his chair.

"What's the matter, Clark? You have been staring at your computer for a while now"

Clark heaved another sigh and Lois shook her head. She slid her chair closer to his and gave him a demanding look. "You good?"

"I don't know"

"What's up?"

Clark pursed his lips . He couldn't tell himself what exactly it was that's bothering him. He decided to speak anyway. Maybe talking it out would help.

"You see, I have this one friend. And I just found out one of his biggest secrets" Lois made a face and Clark thought about it again. Was it what was bothering him?

Clark shook his head and waved his hand in the air. "No, that's not it. So, this friend of mine. I heard him talk to this one woman on the phone"

"Clark, why on earth were you eavesdropping on someone else's conversation!?"

"I wasn't!!" Clark let out an exhausted breath. "It was a video call. And he knew I was there"

Lois nodded and indicated for him to go on.

"This woman, she seemed to be into him. I didn't like the way she looked at him, nor the way she talked to him. It was ... Gross" Clark scrunged his nose up and Lois raised a brow in amusement.

"So I asked him about their relationship once the call ended. He said she was his ex" Clark's voice trailed off and he stared down at his lap.

Lois whistled. "And that's been bothering you?"

Clark nodded his head yes.

"It is not like they're together anymore. Even if they were , I bet your friend can take care of himself. He must not be dumb enough to fall into some honey trap"

"He is meeting with her tonight" Clark's voice was low and Lois raised a brow. "I don't want him to meet her"

"And why is that?"

"I don't want him to--" Clark pursed his lips. "I don't want him to get back with her"

Lois narrowed her eyes. She looked like she was catching upto something. " What if it's some other girl? Would you like him to meet some other girl?"

"No!" Clark's answer was so sudden that even he himself couldn't believe it. He made a quick apology and scratched the back of his head, a bit embarrassed.

Lois heaved a sigh. "It seems you don't want him to be with anyone else other than you"

Clark looked up at her with wide eyes and Lois shook her head. "Are you in love with him, Smallville?"

The question hit him like a thunderbolt and Clark's breath hitched in his throat. Was he?

He thought about all the times he had spent with Bruce. Not a single thought he had had about him had crossed the line and he never held any twisted emotions for him. Or atleast that's what he had thought. So what was it the last day? Why was he so jealous and angry? Why couldn't he catch even a wink of sleep thinking about it? Has his feelings for his best friend changed at some point?

Clark clutched his head and whimpered. His head hurt from thinking.

He felt a hand on his shoulder and he looked to his side to see Lois snicker at him. "Still confused? Just imagine you kissing him. If that doesn't disgust you, Clark, you'll know the answer"

Clark pursed his lips and closed his eyes.

Kissing Bruce..

He couldn't help but think it would be amazing. Just the thought of it made something turn inside his stomach. It made his insides twist and Clark's breath hitched in his throat when he felt a tingle down there.

What...

He sprang up from his chair, making Lois jump.

"Whoa, was it that scary?"

Clark felt the heat rise up his neck and he started walking away in a hurried pace.

"Where are you going in a rush, Smallville?"

Lois's eyes relaxed when she saw a glimpse of a red shade on Clark's face as he turned and walked into the washroom.

She couldn't help but grin thinking about the fire she set off.
