Liv wasn't able to get Dominik a title shot, to no one's surprise. She was, however, able to harass Pearce enough to get Dominik an opportunity to be number one contender...sorta.
First he would have to face Damian Priest one on one this week and win to get added to the triple threat for number one contender at next week's Raw.
It was unnecessary and impractical, but that seemed to be the running theme of Dominik's life right now so he would take what he would get. Plus it was nice seeing the vein bulging from Finn's forehead when he found out Dominik was getting a free opportunity at Damian before he could again.
That Monday, Dominik was in the clubhouse with Liv while the others were in catering. He was keeping to himself, mentally preparing for his one on one with Damian. It was normal for him to isolate himself when he had a match, he didn't like too much outside noise and opinions interfering with his head space.
Plus Liv was enough outside noise as three people would be so it really didn't make a difference anyway.
"You're gonna do sooooo good tonight Dominik!" She gushed as paced back and forth in front of him where he was seated on the couch.
"All you have to do is beat Damian and win the fatal four way next week and boom!—"
"Daddy Dom and his Princessa—world champions."
Liv stopped in front of him, hand waving in the air in a grand gesture that even made him smirk.
"You make it sound so easy."
"Because it is!" She assured before plopping down next to him and swinging her legs to rest in his lap.
"Like me and the boys would actually let you lose." Liv scoffed.
That was one of the best things about being in a faction, strength in numbers. However, Dominik's track record when the judgment day got involved during his matches left him with way more losses than wins, and he wasn't going to take that chance, especially not tonight with Finn's obvious animosity towards Damian.
"I'm gonna let the guys know too, but I need you to make sure no one comes out during my match. I gotta do this myself."
Liv frowned instantly. "But—"
Dominik cut his eyes at her, making her quickly shut her mouth with a sigh.
"Okay." She said softly.
Dominik let out a sigh himself, Liv could be so sensitive sometimes. It made him miss Rhea's no nonsense assertiveness. He would have a death wish glaring at her the way he did Liv.
God he missed Rhea.
He reached over and grabbed Liv's hand, his thumb brushing against her thumb.
"Thank you for getting me this match Liv, I appreciate you."
The praise washed over Liv like a blanket, a large grin finding her face as her cheeks flushed pink.
"You don't have to thank me Daddy Dom, this is what I'm supposed to do for you."
Damn right you are.
Dominik just smirked at her and squeezed her hand.
"You think he's gonna take it easy on you?" Liv asked suddenly.
Dominik glanced at her, raising a brow. "Damian? Not a chance."
"Yeah, that's what I thought," She muttered, leaning back against the arm of the couch. "Man, this is so messed up. You shouldn't even have to go through this. You deserve to be in that triple threat without all this extra crap."
