That night, Dominik called Rhea on FaceTime the second he made it back to his hotel room after the bar.
Rhea answered right away, laid out in her bed with her eyebrow raised. She wasn't expecting to hear from him tonight.
"Mr. Mysterio," She greeted. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
Dominik cut straight to the chase. "Are you going to NXT tomorrow?"
"No." Rhea frowned. "Why would I be at NXT?"
"I knew it!" He exclaimed as he paced his room. "Liv and Raquel are convinced you're going to be there I guess because of Zaria's debut, I don't know."
The sound of Rhea sucking her teeth filled his ears.
"Just because there's a new Australian on the roster, I'm supposed to go running? And to do what exactly?"
"I guess, I don't know, make some allies or something." Dominik shrugged. "Liv is sending Raquel there tomorrow to attack you in the parking lot."
Dominik decided it was best to leave out their original plan that would leave Rhea battered and bloody. Rhea was the most vengeful person he knew (obviously), and if she even had a hint that Liv had a much more sinister plan, Rhea would want to retaliate and Dominik wasn't interested in what kind of maniacal bloodbath that might lead to.
"But this is even better since you won't be there–"
"Oh I'm gonna be there," Rhea interrupted with a smirk. "If Raquel wants a fight, then she'll get one. It's just Raquel right?" She asked for clarification.
"Yup, just her."
Rhea let out a hum. "Looks like Liv finally started using Raquel like the bodyguard she claims to be instead of just the two of them running away together with their tails between their legs."
Dominik smirked to himself, giving himself a mental pat on the back. Rhea would be proud, but now wasn't the time for bragging, at least not about that.
"Did you see my match?" He asked hopefully as he flopped down on his hotel bed.
A low chuckle escaped from Rhea's mouth. "Oh you bet I did. Damian's fucking pissed. I had to listen to him complain about you pinning him for the rest of the night." She revealed with an eye roll and a smirk.
"....I'm proud of you Dom. You never let yourself be the underdog no matter what anyone else has to say about it, you know how good you are and you don't doubt yourself. Nothing ever gets to you anymore, it's remarkable."
Dominik downplayed how much her words meant to him with a small shrug. "Well you're the only one whose opinion matters, so it's really not that hard." He smirked, making her smile.
"Simp." She teased.
Rhea's dry tone made Dominik chuckle, but he didn't deny it.
"Gotta keep 'Normal Rhea' happy," He admitted, propping his phone up on the nightstand so he could lay back and still see her face.
"Well after that hangover, it might be awhile before she makes another appearance," Rhea replied with a playful smirk as she adjusted her pillow to get more comfortable.
"Speaking of which, you really should be celebrating tonight, you know? That win was huge."
Dominik shrugged again, though a small, proud smile played on his lips. "I did go out with the crew for a bit. It was kinda nice actually. But honestly, I'd rather be here talking to you."
Rhea's smirk widened at his admission, but she didn't press it. Instead, she propped her head up with her hand. "So, what's the plan for Raquel tomorrow? You really think she's actually gonna come at me without Liv?"
