By the fourth week into their devious plan, Dominik and Rhea both fell into their roles, maybe a little too well.
They touched base with each other every once in a while but the communication was sparse, especially on Dominik's end. Rhea couldn't help but feel like it was a repeat of when she was injured all over again and she was doing her best not to let her prior insecurities bubble back to the surface.
Dominik had become a full blown menace for the new Judgment Day, from orchestrating the attacks on Damian to booking matches for the other members. He also fell into his role of being Liv's "boy toy", despite the fact that he couldn't stand to be around her for more than a few minutes. He quickly learned she was clingy as hell and she talked way too much.
From Rhea's perspective however, he didn't seem bothered by his newfound romance in the slightest and she hated it. They couldn't keep their hands off each other, it was repulsive. Dominik was soft and gentle with Liv, carrying her around like a prize, constantly kissing her head and holding her hand every chance he got. It bothered Rhea way more than she would ever be willing to admit out loud.
Rhea's slight jealousy caused her to say some...questionable things about Dominik on social media as the weeks progressed but she didn't mean them of course. He was well aware of this but it didn't make him feel any better, god he couldn't wait for all of this to be over.
That Monday, Dominik sat in catering with the rest of the new Judgment Day before Raw. He had his arm draped around Liv with her tucked into his side as she talked with Finn and JD. He found himself staring off into space, completely zoned out from their conversation. This was his new normal; he constantly felt detached from everything and everyone. Small talk bored him, if it wasn't about upcoming plans or matches he couldn't be bothered.
He wasn't his usual light and funny self anymore. Finn noticed the change in him more than anybody and was proud of him ironically enough. The way he saw it, Dominik finally being away from Rhea made him focused and serious when in reality he was just absolutely miserable.
The sudden sound of loud laughter snapped him back into reality. It was her laugh, a laugh he knew all too well because he used to be the main cause of it. His eyes quickly darted over to the source seeing Rhea make her way down the hallway with Damian on her left and on her right was...Jey?
Dominik's eyebrows slightly furrowed watching her smiling ear to ear and laughing at him. And it was her real genuine laugh, not the one she usually used when she was just being polite. What was she doing hanging around him anyway?
They had both developed the habit of scanning the room for each other at every opportunity to steal sneaky glances at one another, so Dominik kept his eyes fixed on her waiting. Imagine his surprise when she didn't even bother to look over in the direction of catering at all and instead kept her gaze fixated on Jey as they passed through.
An involuntary deep sigh escaped from him causing Liv to glance up at him.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine," He brushed off quickly before pressing a kiss to the side of her head to fight off his scowl and to keep her from asking any more questions.
Everything about their "connection" was purely physical. They never had any real conversations about anything outside of wrestling and movies. Liv was closer to Finn than anybody which worked well for Dominik because as long as he was affectionate with her she was fine.
It took awhile to get used to, being so affectionate with someone that wasn't Rhea, especially so publicly affectionate. He still cringed every time she rubbed her nose against his but it wasn't as bad anymore.
