******Two years later*****
"Hello?" I asked as I answered my phone without looking at the caller I.D.
"Oh great you answered! Let me get Kenzie!"
"What?" I asked stopping dead in my spot on the stairs leading up to my apartment door. "Who is this?" I asked when the female voice didn't answer me.
"Hello?" A new voice asked me.
"Hey, who is this?" I asked again, this time getting annoyed with the lack of response.
"It's Mackenzie. You called me!"
Mackenzie Marks had been one of my best friends my freshmen year of college, which means the person who originally called me is none other than my other best friend Zoey Wilde.
"I hate three way calls..." I muttered to myself as I travelled the remaining distance from the steps to my dorm room door.
Off-Campus living, best idea I ever had.
"What did you say Kelsey?" Kenzie asked me.
"Nothing. What did ya'll want anyway?" I asked forcing my door open. It got stuck in the swelling spring heat in southern Virginia.
"That's rude." Zoey stated. "Did you make your schedule yet?"
"Yes." I answered as I walked past my roommate who was in the middle of an intense make out session with her 'flame of the week' as she affectionately called them.
"Come on Kelsey, you have to be somewhat social with us!" Kenzie said, "It's not like you can locked yourself away for the rest of your life!"
"Mackenzie!" Zoey warned.
"You know what Mackenzie, if you think that you can start commenting on my life – " I started to retort before Zoey interrupted me.
"So who's your Math teacher? I got this new person named Kaynes. Who is she?" Zoey asked, attempting to change the topic before she got in the middle of a fight.
"I got her too!" Kenzie replied hesitantly as if she was waiting for me to respond first. They both paused, making sure I was still on the line.
"I don't know who it is." I stated with about as much emotion as asking someone to pass the salt from across the table.
"But do you have her?" Zoey pushed.
"Yeah I think so." I logged onto my Eagle account to double check my schedule before answering their questions. My phone laid beside my computer so I wouldn't have to listen to them blather on and on while I checked on my schedule.
Of course I had ended up with this Kaynes person as my teacher, why not? Give me the new Math teacher, she won't be able to teach me anyway.
Ugh I hate math.
I put my phone to my ear to hear Kenzie talking about her wonderful boyfriend, Matt Gorham. Relationships suck, why do you want to do that to yourself?
"Yeah I got Kaynes." I said, interrupting Kenzie mid-speech.
"When do you have it!?" They both screamed in my ear at the same time, causing temporary deafness in that one ear.
"At 11:05." I said putting the phone on my other ear and then quickly pulling it away.
"Me Too!!" They screamed through the phone.
"Great then I'll see you then." I was about to hang up the phone when I hear Zoey yell through the phone. "What is it Zoe?"
"I asked you to wait!" Zoey stated again.
