Mackenzie was busy curling my hair the second she showed up. I had been home for a grand total of five minutes and literally had just changed into my dress when she barged through my door. She couldn't wait the two seconds it would have taken me to pull my dress down all the way so I could actually be appropriate.
"Where are we even going tonight?" I asked as Kenzie pulled at my blondish-brown hair to curl tightly.
"We are going out to dinner then dancing."
"But where are we going?"
"Out." Kenzie stated vaguely.
"That's helpful..." I said with a pout.
"You'll love it."
"Do you even know what she wants to talk to us about?"
"All she said was she had news to tell us and it was a big deal."
"You both are really vague."
"Well I know something I would prefer not to be vague on..." Kenzie said with a devious smile and an excited gleam in her eye.
"Which is what?"
"How was your date with Mr. Kaynes?" She asked letting out a little shriek of excitement at uttering his name.
"It wasn't a date! I had to stay with him after class because he caught me doing my creative writing homework." I explained as my face started to turn hot from this conversation.
I don't think I've ever been this embarrassed.
"Then why are you blushing?" Kenzie asked in an excited tone. "Did something happen? Oh la la Kelsey!"
"Shut up! Nothing happened between us!" I said in a defensive tone that made my voice crack slightly.
"Something totally happened!"
"Kenzie --!" I yelled as the door to my dorm room opened again. Zoey stepped out in a black dress with an empire waist and straight blonde hair.
"What's going on?" Zoey questioned at the probably odd sight Kenzie and I probably created during this conversation
"I'm asking Kelsey about her date with Mr. Kaynes." Kenzie said teasingly.
"What?! That's not fair!" Zoey yelled coming toward me.
"It wasn't a date!" I yelled at both of them.
"I'd date Mr. Kaynes, I mean have you seen him?" Zoey said in an overly exaggerated tone.
"Yes, I've seen him. I've talked to him too." I said as I pushed up from my seat and fixed my dress so that it wouldn't show the very tops of my thighs.
I leaned over the chair to look into the mirror, my complexion was flawless in sense. I had no acne while growing up and, due to my parents interracial marriage, I was the perfect mix of black and white. Even though will glancing at me, anyone would assume I was probably black since I was dark. It's like having a perment tan.
My hair was a mix of my mom's blonde hair and my dad's black hair, that left me with this dark blonde color that looked almost unnatural with how the colors intermingled. My height came from my dad, even though mom isn't really short she just isn't tall.
"His voice is dreamy too, just like his face." Zoey said with a wink.
"You're only interest in what's in his pants." Kenzie muttered as she roughed up my dark blonde hair. I towered over both of them with my height, but matched them with how fit I was. We were all fit and skinny, but we filled it out well.
