"Okay, it's time you tell me what's bothering you." Kenzie said sliding into the seat next to me at the coffee shop. I hadn't been the same since my weekend at Alex's house. It had been filled with so much passion and sex I thought I was going to explode with happiness.

Then for the last two weeks he had gone back to ignoring me. I had even gotten a new tutor that was on the verge of having a restraining order slapped against him. He was too touchy and I wanted to punch him in the face every time he got too close to me.

"Nothing is bothering me, why do you ask?"

"You're lying. You've been quiet for the last two weeks."

"Maybe it's because Caleb now knows where I am. Thanks to your boyfriend!" I yelled as my fist slammed down on the table. People must have looked at us, but that didn't stop Kenzie from protecting her boyfriend.

"Oh, it's not Matt's fault! He came to warn you!"

"And then he brought him right to me! He should have called or emailed me, anything would have been better!"

"He wanted to see me..." Kenzie said with a pouting expression.

"I'm glad you two have a disgustingly cute relationship, but he put me in danger by coming here! Can't you see that?"

"Of course I can, but maybe he's right. Maybe you need to stand up to him."

"I don't want to see him again."

"You don't have to. Have that new boy of yours get Caleb to stop."

"I don't think Alex would be up for that."

"Who's Alex?" Kenzie asked.

"Who?" I asked. I hadn't meant to let his name slip out. Kenzie would never let me live it down if I told her I was into our math teacher. I had kept it a secret from her because I wasn't ready to admit it, plus there was nothing to admit. We weren't officially together and Alex was fighting it as best as he could.

"You said Alex. Do you mean that guy you thought you saw on the first day of the semester?"

"Yeah, I found him after class."

"That's great!" Kenzie said with an excited squeal.

"Yeah, but here's the problem—"

"I knew there was something wrong." Kenzie said with a wink.

"Yeah, you were right. Congratulations." I said sarcastically as my eyes rolled into the back of my head.

"Well, tell me about it."

"I would if you would stop interrupting me every few seconds."

"Fine, I'll be silent as a night." She said as she slapped her hands over her mouth.

"He doesn't want to have a relationship with me." I said. Kenzie moved her hands so she could speak, but I stopped her. "Come on Kenzie, that wasn't even ten seconds."

"Sorry." She whispered with a soft apologetic smile.

"Anyway, I want to make him see that he needs and wants me around just as much as I want him around. I think he knows it, but he won't admit it. That's where I need help, because if I can't get him to admit that then your plan for using him to get rid of Caleb goes out the tubes and I'm leaving next year."

Kenzie was silent when I finished. So silent I thought she had fallen asleep, but then I remembered she snored in her sleep. I lifted an eyebrow in curiosity while she continued to just stare at me. Kenzie scrunched her mouth into the corner of her face as if waiting for something.

"What, Kenzie?"

"Can I talk now?" She asked like a child playing the silent game. Something told me I would be playing that game a lot with me children, if I ever had any.

"Yes, Kenzie. That's kind of the point of me asking for your help in this matter." I said sourly as she smiled.

"Well, I wanted to be sure because you were angry that I was interrupting you earlier." She said with a saucy smile.

"Just tell me your thoughts Kenzie." I begged slightly as she continued to drag this conversation out longer and longer.

"I can't believe you need my help with this, it's kind of obvious."

"How so?" I asked, interrupting her like she had done to me.

"You make him realize that he wants to have you and that he can't have that if you're gone."

"Well, no dip Sherlock! I meant how do I do that?"

"You make it seem like you're serious about leaving."

"I am serious about leaving though."

"Now who's interrupting who?" Kenzie asked with a smart-ass tone and a smirk tugging onto her lips.

"Sorry." I said mimicking her soft smile and slight pout.

"Ask him to help you with the applications, tease him, get him riled up, but don't kiss him. He'll get a little peeved, but he'll realize that he wants you more than he originally thought. That's how I got Matt to ask me out."

"I'm not sure that will work on Alex though..."

"It will work. He will cave in a matter of days or you could make him jealous."

"That wouldn't be hard. He hates every single one of my math tutors that I keep having to get new ones."

"Why, what's wrong with them?" Kenzie asked taking a sip of her hot chocolate.

"They are all male."

Kenzie laughed so hard that she snorted. "Then you should have no problem getting him to cave. Maybe you can go on spring break with him." Kenzie said, trying to slide that into the conversation as discretely as possible.

"What happened to going to Daytona Beach with you and Zoey?" I asked.

"Zoey cancelled last night. She can't get a flight back out here to do the road trip with us. She also told me she was going to spend time with her new flame, Ryan."

"Is he a teacher?" I asked jokingly.

"Knowing her, I wouldn't be surprised. She didn't want to talk about it over the phone. She said at the end of the year, if they make it that long, then she will bring him down here to meet us. If he can't come she will still come and tell us all about it."

"If they are together that long? Kenzie, that's a little rude."

"But, it's true. So tell me about Alex."

"You've already meet him, and you can again once I win him over."

"Going to make him yours?"

"Or change schools trying." I said jokingly. Alex had no idea what he was in for the next few weeks. I would find a way to get him to admit that he needed me, wanted me and maybe even loved me. I wanted a relationship with him, not to just be some fling. I needed to know if he felt the same or if I was just wasting my time again.
