Arthur enters camp, his tired gaze focusing on the men sitting next to Dutch and Micah. He sees Claudia sitting next to Sadie by the fire sharpening a stick with her knife. The sun hides behind the clouds as the sky turns grey, he walks over to the group as they sit near Dutch's tent.  "So why are these two still here?" Arthur asks, taking a step forward to Dutch.
"Old pals of Micah" Dutch grunts as he smokes his cigar, slouching down in his chair.
Arthur looks at the two strange men, his mind wondering why are they here, "They're getting real comfortable."
"We need guns for what's coming. Cleet and Joe know how to fight... it's lucky I bumped into 'em" Micah sneers leaning against the tents post.
Arthur sighs shaking his head, "What is going on, Dutch? What is happening to us? What's happening to you?"
Micah steps off the tent wooden floor and marches towards Arthur, "You show him some respect" Micah states as Dutch stays silent watching the world go by.
"Excuse me?" Arthur tilts his head, camp members start to stand behind him due to the commotion. The sound of horses hooves erupt in camp, Eagle Flies and his tribes members break the tension between the men.
Eagle Flies rides in leading the way, catching Dutch's attention, "Mr. Van der Linde! Mr. Morgan! They tried to kill my people for oil. For oil! Today we ride once more. Ride with me, ride with us. Ride with us against the factory."
"I love your courage, son. It is a thing of great beauty" Dutch chuckles as he gets up from his seat and makes his way to the young man.  Arthur spins his head around as he hears another voice, "Stop! Everyone stop! My son, my last son... When I was your age... I fought... I saw death. I have killed. The men I knew were slain. The men I knew were slain. My first born, your brother... had his head smashed by a drunken soldier. My wife had her throat slit. We made peace. I knew not to trust, yet I had no choice. Maybe you were right... maybe the slow death is worse than a fast one. Maybe none of these men are good. Maybe a world in which they came to us... is a world that we cannot endure. But endure we must" Rains Fall enters the camp after following his son.
Eagle Flies rolls his eyes, the sight of his father trying to stop him irritates him, " Father, you are tired."
"Do not die for pride, my son. We have suffered too much in this trick. The earth, the water... they have no pride. They endure, and we must endure. My only boy... my precious boy... do not mistake my strength for weakness. As your chief, I implore you" Rains Fall begs as he stumbles towards his son's horse.
"Your words mean nothing to me, Father" Eagle Flies snaps, gripping the reins tightly of his horse, "Ride with me! Now!"
Rains Falls moves away as the tribe rides off, leaving him begging , "Stop. Please... stop. Please... Mr. Morgan. After you helped me, after we spoke... this is just a trap. My son, my people, will all die."
Dutch turns his head to Arthur, "You helped this feller, Arthur?"
"Please" Rains Fall begs.
"What else you been doing behind Dutch's back?" Micah pokes his head into the conversation, his nosey mind questions Arthur.
"What?" Arthur tone changes, his patience running out.
"The wars are over... we have lost. These young men will be annihilated. Please" Rains Fall looks at Arthur, ignoring the rest of the gang surrounding him.
Arthur gives a small nod, "I'll see what I can do. Charles? Who else will come with me?"
Dutch grins, the cogs in his head turning, "Oh, I'll ride, Arthur. Who knows what other secrets I'll learn about. Who else?"
"I will" Sadie pipes up with Claudia standing by her side.
Claudia sighs, "I guess I will as well"
"And me" John says as Javier and Bill agrees to go as well.
"Alright, let's ride out" Dutch announces, walking to his horse with Micah trailing behind him following his steps.
They all mount up and start riding out, silence taking over the gang until Dutch speaks up breaking it, "What else have you been doing behind my back, Arthur?"
"I was trying to stop this mess from getting any worse. Clearly that didn't work" Arthur huffs digging his spurs into his horse quickening the pace.
Dutch chuckles, "what about you Claud? You are known to do stuff behind my back."
"Very funny, Dutch" She sarcastically smiles, ignoring his stare towards her as they ride side by side.
"Why the hell would they attack the oil fields?" John queries shouting from the back of the group.
"What do you mean? It's perfect" Dutch says leading the way at the front.
"This was your idea?" Arthur grunts, his teeth biting through his tongue.
"Partly... the army, the government, the industrialists... they've taken everything from these people. Wouldn't you wanna fight back?"
"You've handed them a death sentence" Arthur yells.
"Just like John, if we hadn't got him out of that prison" Sadie shouts catching Bill's attention.
"Hey, show some goddamn respect" Bill says, snapping back at Sadie.
"You'll know when I ain't showing respect, Bill" Sadie says back, her accents seeping through her voice.
"I had a plan... I still have a plan" Dutch stutters as the words flow from his mouth.
John yells, "What plan? What goddamn plan, Dutch? Tahiti? Timbuktu?"
"That's enough. What's wrong with you all? What happened to loyalty?" Javier shouts out, his mind getting torn by the two side of the gang.
"Yeah, what did?" John snaps back.
"Thank you, Javier, Bill. Right now, it doesn't matter how we got here. These men need our help. I have a plan... this is the plan. So either stick with me or cut loose. Because I am tired of this constant dissent, long tired of it. Now come on!" Dutch shouts for all to hear, they get closer to the battle.  They bump into one of the men from the tribe escaping the massacre of a mess. Finally reaching the oil fields, a huge blaze of fire erupts.
Charles pulls out his binoculars, "It's a massacre."
"We gotta help these men" Dutch says quietly loud enough for Arthur to hear.
"Can anyone see Eagle Flies?" Arthur asks, scanning the area with his binoculars, the smoke from the flames blocking his sight.
"There, going across the walkway" Charles points out as he spots Eagles Flies, shooting the army in his path.
"You got what you wanted, Dutch" Arthur hisses, watching Eagle Flies through the glass.
"You coming, Arthur?" Dutch ask moving slowly waiting for a response.
"I'm gonna try and save him. This fight is unwinnable... if you go and distract them and let me get to him" Arthur explains, placing his binoculars away.
Dutch scoffs, "Have it your way. The rest of you, ride with me. Let's meet up at the factory. Let's ride!"
"Go with him... try and help there. I'm better off alone" Arthur tells Charles,  Sadie, Claudia and fellow tribe members.
"You really think, I'm going with them" Claudia chuckles showing a smile, turning her gaze to Arthur. He smiles, finally seeing a smile from her face which he hasn't seen in a while.
"We're riding with you" Charles states staying by the side of his friend.
"Come on then" Arthur rolls his eyes, ay the stubbornness of his friends although he is thankful for them all.
Charles tightens his grip to his reigns, "Let's ride!"
They all ride down side by side not knowing what will happen. Sweat drops off Claudia's forehead as they get closer to the flames. The smoke rises to the sky, making it hard to search for Eagle Flies.
"Off the horses, we need to get to Eagle Flies. Come on! Let's find Eagle Flies!" Charles orders as they reach the oil fields.
Claudia jumps off her horse and hits its side startling the mare making it flee. The others do the same, and find cover as snipers shoot from the tower.
"Arthur" Eagle Flies looks up, his eyes sigh in relief seeing backup. Arthur helps him up from the floor, stretching his hand out to him.
Claudia stands in front covering them, her hairs standing up on her arms, "Arthur, I'm going to go and meet Dutch by the factory to see if they need help."
"No, stay. There is too many guns near there" He acknowledges the amount of bullets flying over from the factory, smoke rising from the flames.
"I'll be fine, I promise" she pauses, "I'll see you in a bit, meet me by the front"
Arthur grunts, he knows he can't persuade her to stay where he can keep an eye on her and protect her. She crouches down behind the crates seeking cover from the bullets, she looks up towards the tower and takes down the snipers. Two bodies falling from the height. Her legs quickly move along the wooden path around the back of the factory, finding an easier way to get to Dutch instead of through the 'no man's land'. She keeps her body tight up against the wall of the back of the factory, the sounds of men yelling as bullets rip into their skin. She pokes her head around the corner, seeing Dutch and Javier hiding behind two crates just outside the entrance of the factory. Manoeuvring her steps, she reaches them wiping the sweat off her forehead from the flames nearby.
"How we doing over here?" She gives a small sarcastic smile, placing her black hat back on her head. Dutch turns his head seeing her smile and rolls his eyes.
"Nice of you to join us" He mumbles lifting his head once in a while pulling the trigger.
She chuckles at her father's attitude noticing where she got it from, "Arthur has the boy, I told him will help out and then once it's over he can come and help. But we both know that ain't going to happen, and that he's probably on his way over now."
Dutch turns his body facing her, hiding away from the enemies, "I have something to finish up before we leave all of this mess."
Claudia eyebrows furrow, she wonders what he is speaking about, "what business?"
"Why do you think I'm doing this for them?" Dutch gives off a small sly chuckle, his throat dry from the smoke.
Claudia's limbs go numb as she realises what he has been planning, "you bastard!" She pauses trying to get her words out, "you are using them for the money?"
Dutch ignores her taking his mind back to the shooting and violence, Claudia stays in her position. Her mind pulsing with rage for what her father has done, "innocent people have died"
The bullets die down and Dutch stands up, his body in view of a bullet. Arthur, Eagle Flies and Sadie with the others make their way to them.
Dutch rises an eyebrow eying up the people coming, "So good of you to join us. Hello, son."
"Hey" Eagle Flies greets, walking along with Charles and Arthur.
"Saved your life? You're quite the hero, Arthur. Ain't you?" Dutch sneers, putting his revolver back into his holster.
Arthur grunts, "Just a regular good guy. Same as always."
Dutch gives a little scoff, his gaze staring on Arthur, "What is it with you, Arthur? What is it?
"I don't get you... I don't get you no more" Arthur's voice quietens, the thoughts on his mind finally leaving his mouth.
Dutch shakes his head softly, enough for Claudia to see the anger awaken in him, "Ah, the doubting. The doubting. Come on, get him out of here. All of you. Come on, let's go finish things."
Arthur shrugs, "Finish what?"
Claudia stands up from her position, walking over to the men, "he had a different plan all along, he didn't want to help Eagle Flies at all" he voice quietens down at the end so they others don't pick it up.
"Javier, you get them and you go" Dutch orders Javier, he nods whistling for his horse. Claudia gives one glance at Javier, they haven't spoken since their disagreement. His eyes still go cold when he sees her face.
Eagle Flies pokes his head in the conversation, breaking Claudia's gaze, "I find all my men, I'm not leaving" he sternly states.
Dutch shrugs not caring what he does now, "As you wish. Rest of you, get outta here"
Charles steps forward, "I'm staying with you"
Claudia stands near Charles, "so am I"
"We're getting our ticket outta here. We need to find the office" Dutch spins around facing the factory, he walks over to the door and busts the lock with a bullet from his revolver. Arthur sighs and follows his lead into the building.
Claudia places her revolver in her holster with a sigh, frustration taking over her, "You should go, just in case more come" she says looking at Charles.
He shakes his head, "no I can't leave Eagle Flies here, I made a promise Rains Fall"
"Dutch has lost his mind doing this, getting in with the government and army" Claudia says, Charles nods with agreement but gets interrupted by the sound of yells. Dutch bursts through the door, walking in a calm manor.
"We need to go" He states as he whistles for the Count, Claudia frowns noticing Arthur is not here.
"Where is Arthur?" Her voice raises, looking at Dutch. She huffs, taking her revolver out of her holster. Sweat drips down her face as she steps up towards the entrance not knowing what she is going to face. She walking in seeing Arthur struggling on the floor with a guard on top of him trying to stab his throat. She looks up to see another guard standing holding his gun at her, he pulls the trigger making the bullet graze her arm. She fires killing him instantly, and then killing the one on top of Arthur. She lifts the body of Arthur, "behind!" He yells, her breath hitches as she ducks hearing the ringing sound of a gun. Arthur pushes her out of the way and shoots his shot at the Colonel Favours , Claudia collects her breath trying to find the bullet wound from his shot. She looks at Arthur's gaze to the floor, she turns around seeing Eagle Flies lying on the floor with a bullet wound.
"Fuck" she blurts out, seeing him on the floor. Arthur gets up
"Ah, you, you silly fool" Arthur staggers up and helps Eagle Flies get up, "come on."
"You saved my life more than once... to give mine for yours... it's as it should be" Eagle Flies winces as Arthur wraps his arm around him, kicking the door open. Claudia follows them applying pressure to the bullet graze on her arm to stop the bleeding, the exit the building seeing Dutch on his horse ready to leave. Not one sense of worry on his face.
Dutch grips the reins of his horse, "We need to go."
"You... you ran away" Arthur grunts, holding Eagle Flies up passing him on to Charles.
"I did no such thing. Don't be a fool. They could be back here any minute. We did it gentlemen... we got some money... and with the train job... well, we got a whole lot of money. Come on... everything is coming together. Exactly as I planned."
"I've got to take the boy to his father" Arthur mutters, helping Charles put Eagle Flies on Charles's horse.
"As you wish... usually is, nowadays. Dear are you coming with me?" Dutch lays his eyes on his daughter, "or are you going with Arthur?"
Claudia furrows her brows opening her mouth to speak.
"She's going with you" Arthur snaps, getting on his own horse.
"No I'm going with you" She stutters looking up to Arthur.
"No, you're injured and bleeding. Get it sorted out" Arthur gives her a stern look, already annoyed from Dutch's disappearance when he needed him.
"Fine" she mounts Nyrah, pulling her self up with one arm.
"I'll be back when I can" Arthur says, Dutch nods slowly pulling the reins. He starts riding away, Claudia gives Arthur one last look and she follows.
