"We're coming!" Salem yelled which made me jump a little at his loud voice.
He turned his back to climb down when I noticed a tattoo between his shoulders. It was of a black cat with an arched back, it seemed to be hissing and letting its claws out and in a threatened mode. It got me wandering why he would have that.
My fingertips touched his bare skin and brushed over the tattoo lightly. "What's with the cat?"
He stopped, and turned to face me. "When I was a kid" he started "I used to be afraid of everything. Older kids, socializing, being the center of attention, the dark, being alone and things that were silly. Basically a scaredy cat"
"As I became older" he continues "these fears kept getting bigger. Until one day I was like 'no stop! no more fears'. And I got this tattoo to remember that day when I was about to break but tried so hard not to. That cat actually gives me confidence whenever I pass by a certain thing that used to scare me".
"Wow. That's really brave of you" I smiled.
"Thanks. I'm pretty happy with myself now"
He slipped into a black shirt and was about to get out.
"Woah, Sam, it's like 158 degrees, are you seriously wearing black?!" I said.
He changed into a grey shirt. "Happy?" he smirked.
I rolled my eyes and followed him downstairs.
Alex was standing by the counter, waiting for the microwave meal with his back facing us. My eyes met a full-back drawing of two wolves howling at the glowing full moon.
"Wow, you have a tattoo too?!" I exclaimed. I just said too too.
He turned to look at us and smiled "yeah"
"Does it mean something?" I asked curiously.
"Well yeah" Alex says "it's me and James in our wolf forms, showing that wolves that howl together stay together. As in we never leave each other's side no matter what. James has the same one too, symbolising that we are inseparable"
"Awww. So are you two like...?"
He cut me off "no. No. I'm not..."
"Oh. That's fine" I smiled. "So does anyone else has a surprise tattoo I didn't know about?" I looked around.
"Actually, yes" Tara said and pulled her hair up revealing a pair of blue coloured wings on the back of her neck. "It's not technically a tattoo. I have this since I was born. I think it has to do with fairies" she shrugged.
"That's cool!" I pouted "Now everyone has one but me"
"You'll get your tattoo someday" Alex patted my shoulder.
"Alex, why would you wake us up at 7:00am?" Tara whined as we were eating breakfast.
"Cause it's healthier. Also you have to study with me". He then looked at me and Salem "and you two have to train"
Oh that's right, we only have time to train on weekends cause of school.
We trained the whole day. It was exhausting. Then we sat at our usual spot to rest, where I met my unicorn.
"Blue Wingz! Oh. I've missed you so much!". I hugged him and rubbed his neck. I never got to see him since school started which is so annoying.
Me and Salem had a chat like we usually do after training. And while we were sat on the ground I found a feather. A long one. And I thought of something evil.
