The evening before, Meerab sat with Mahir in the quiet garden, the cool breeze rustling through the leaves. The serene environment seemed to provide the perfect setting for a heartfelt conversation. Meerab, with her sharp gaze, turned to her twin.

"Mahir, what did you mean yesterday when you said you lost in love? What happened between you and Sabahat?"

she asked, her tone filled with concern.

Mahir hesitated, his eyes avoiding hers as he stared at the ground.

"Don't look at me like that, Mahir. I’m your twin I know everything that was going on between you two,"

Meerab insisted, her voice firm yet soft.

Finally, Mahir met her gaze. There was a flicker of pain in his eyes as he spoke.

"She got married, Meerab,"

he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Meerab’s eyes widened in shock.

"Married? When? Why? Didn’t she love you?"

Mahir sighed deeply, his expression a mix of regret and sorrow.

"Yes, she loved me more than I ever loved her."

Meerab leaned closer, her curiosity and concern growing.

"Then what happened?"

Mahir's voice was heavy with guilt as he began to explain.

"She wanted me to bring a proposal for her. She confessed her feelings to me. But I didn’t take her seriously. I was so caught up in finding you, Meerab, and... I wasn’t sure of my own feelings for her. By the time I realized, by the time I was ready to make her mine, she was already someone else’s."

He paused, his hands clenching as he relived the moment.

"You know, when she wanted me to talk to her father, her father was already looking for a proposal for her. He wanted to marry her off quickly. I was so careless. I didn’t act, and I lost her. She deserved better, Meerab. I didn’t deserve her."

Meerab listened in silence, her heart aching for her brother. She reached out and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.

Mahir looked at her, his voice trembling slightly.

"It was really hard to hide this from you, Meerab. But now, after telling you, I feel... lighter."

Meerab gave him a small, reassuring smile, but before she could say anything, Mahir pulled her into a hug.

"Forget about this, okay? It’s been two years. Don’t stress yourself over my past. Focus on your own relationship with Murtasim. He loves you, and I don’t want you to make the same mistake I did,"

Mahir said, his tone gentle yet firm.

He pulled back from the hug, patted her shoulder, and walked away, leaving Meerab alone with her thoughts. The night deepened, but Meerab stayed rooted to her spot, her brother’s words echoing in her mind, filling her with both sadness and resolve.

The grand hall was alive with the hum of conversations and joyous laughter. The entire family had gathered, their happiness radiating in every corner. Umeed sat quietly beside her father, her hands clasped tightly, her face glowing with both nervousness and excitement. Farjad stood nearby, his eyes occasionally glancing at Umeed, his expression a mix of pride and shyness.

Nighat cleared her throat, breaking the murmurs of the room.

"I have something to say,"

she began, her tone warm and full of hope. All eyes turned to her as she continued,
