Before I could comprehend what we would do about this so called 'bad company', Barry swept me into his arms and sped out of the lab. We were now in the room with the 'Super-Treadmill' which Barry placed me in the corner. Using his super speed again, he stacked the many cardboard boxes in front of me; just like when I was trapped at work.
"Barry, wait!" I pleaded with a shaky breath.
"Just stay quiet and don't leave." He said, stopping at his stacking.
"Please just be safe." I said before he nodded and stacked the last cardboard boxes.
It had gone quiet now, meaning I was alone. It was pitch black in the room, the only sounds were my shaky breaths. There were faint shouts along with the sounds of fighting. It felt like I had been ages since Barry left me. I wanted him here, I needed him here. But I knew he had to fight if we were all to be safe.
And who the hell was here!? Who was attacking and why were they doing this? Was it the criminal Barry had failed to capture? Whoever it was, Barry knew who Cisco had meant, he knew that person was dangerous.
There was a light being flashed around, coming from a torch. I covered my mouth to stop the sound of my breathing reaching the ears of whoever was there. The light was waved around, meaning they were searching.
"Bethan?" It was a womans voice but I slightly recognised it."Bethan are you here?"
"Rose?" I called out, confused.
"Bethan? Where are you?"
Standing up, I removed some of the boxes so that I could see her. She turned around, shining the light directly into my eyes. Once she stopped blinding me, she ran over.
"Quick, get in, we can hide in here." I said."Wait, what are you doing here?"
"No Bethan, we have to leave."
"You didn't answer me, why are you here?"
"Perhaps I can help with that." A male voice said. Both of us turned to face the door.
The man was small and weedy but was holding a huge gun of some sort. Parts of his face were covered with metal parts that looked like they had been screwed in. His eyes were bloodshot and that had been aluminated by the torch shining on him. He had no hair and his skin had many scars; whatever had happened to him, he wasn't going to take shit from anyone.
"No, not her. Please leave her alone!" Rose pleaded.
"You know him!?" I snapped.
The man flicked on the light switch, showing how hideous he really was."My dear Rose, you've done well."
"Don't do this, please don't."
"Sorry my love, it's already been done."
They kept arguing and I was so confused. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a box that was open. Sliding it towards me with my foot, I saw something that I thought I never would; the Ramen Slay-em gun. Without being noticed, I picked it up, trying tonforget what happened the last time I had used it. As their arguing got louder, I took my chance and shot him. However, it was him that was sent flying backwards instead of me. The gun fell out of his hands and he just laid there. Grabbing Rose's hand, I pulled her out of the room but she kept resisting.
"Come on Rose!" I screamed.
"No! I cannot leave him!"
"He is a monster! Let's go."
"But I love him!" She ripped her hand away from in and ran over to him. But to my horror, she grabbed the gun and aimed it at me."Don't make me do this!"
"Rose, please, just...just calm down."
"No! I can't leave him don't you understand that? He has helped me and cared for me, I can't just abandon him."
I had to know what my best friend had gotten herself into."Who the hell is he?"
"He is nameless. He doesn't have a name."
"How do you know him?"
"I got low... I didn't have a job, or money, or a home. I went to apply for a job one day but they turned me away. So I protested, causing a scene and they threw me out. He found me on the streets and helped me. But that stupid scientist, Dr Wells, yeah he harmed my love. He worked for Wells but an accident happened but did anyone care? No! Now this is what he is, he wants revenge."
"That doesn't mean you have to harm anyone."
"You're threatening to hurt him, of course I do!"
"Put the gun down. I'll put mine down too. Look." I did so and held my hands up to show I meant no harm.
"No!" I heard the gun charging up, meaning that she might shoot me. Before she could, she was slammed into the wall, The Flash standing over her unconscious body.
"Oh god." I whimpered, hating the sight of my best friend hurt, both mentally and physically.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
We sat around the lab, all of us silent. The police had come and arrested both the nameless man and Rose. By the time they had arrived, both were awake. I watched as Rose was handcuffed and put into a car. Now could that have happened to her? She was so strong. That wasn't my Rose.
Cailtin and Cisco were sitting at their computers but nothing was happening. Wells was staring into space whilst Barry was leaning against a desk. I sat in a chair, wrapping my arms around myself. The realisation that my best friend would have killed me had finally sunk in and I suddenly screamed. The others were very alarmed. Holding my head in my hands, I bent over, sobbing loudly. A pair of strong arms wrapped around me and I knew who it was. They say down with me, letting me cling to them. The others knew Barry could handle this so they left.
Barry seemed to be the only one who would be able to calm me down but he let me cry for a little while. Finally, I stopped crying, my throat aching from it all. Pulling away, I wiped my eyes with the back of my sleeve. Looking up, Barry was already looking at me. He squeezed my shoulders reasurringly. I knew that neither of us had to say anything so we didn't.
