The energy wave was surging through the outskirt of the city. I pressed down on the accelerator, urging my car to go faster. Cisco and Harrison were shouting through the tablet, warning me of the danger approaching that I already knew about. Suddenly, the rear end of my car was being lifted into the air, meaning I would be flipped over. Screaming, I tried to gain control but there was nothing I could do. The car was now skidding on the roof, spinning as well, leaving me defenceless. I was being tossed around in my seat, the seatbelt was helpful though I would gain injury from that. It then started to roll, the windows were smashed which meant that glass was flying everywhere.
The car finally stopped moving, staying upside down. My breathing was heavy and I could feel blood trickling down certain body parts. I had no idea when but my air bag had popped open, luckily for me. But I couldn't move, I felt too tired to. The tablet was only making cracking sounds, I couldn't make out the words. The blood was rushing to my head as I hung upside down. Just below me was my phone which had slipped out of my pocket. Slowly extending my hands out, it was just out of my reach, even though I tried so hard. But my eyes were drooping, I was finding it too hard to stay awake; although I knew I had to, I just couldn't keep them open, falling unconscious to the sound of distant sirens.

I felt something tickling my hand and I flinched. Slowly opening my eyes, it was blurry for a second before everything was clear. Barry came into view, a smile gracing his face as I woke. I smiled back, pulling him closer.
My voice as croaky."Did it work?"
"Bethan, that doesn't matter. What matters is that your alive and only received minimal injury. It's a miracle." he gently hugged me, kissing me too.
"But did it?"
He chuckled."Yes it did." He suddenly looked nervous.
"Barry, what is it?"
"Uh....this was supposed to be a surprise...but your parents are coming over here."
"What!?"
"Obviously none of this could be predicted but I wanted to meet them in person too and-"
"Barry, that was so thoughtful of you. I haven't seen them in so long. And you'll finally meet."
"What do you mean? We have met."
"Over Skype maybe."
There was movement at the door and I saw Caitlin along with Cisco, standing there smiling. They came in, standing the opposite side of Barry.
"How are you feeling?" Cisco asked.
"I'm aching, but I'll be alright. What happened after the accident?"
Caitlin's smile dropped but she tried to look happy."Ronnie thought it would be best if he stayed away, just until he got control of his powers."
"Well, he's a clever guy. He should be able to gain control in no time." I tried to reassure her.

"Another test? Is this really necessary?" I whined. After spending a week in the hospital recovering, Cisco had asked that I come into the lab to check that the sonic wave hadn't effected me.
"We have to be sure." Cisco retaliated.
"Caitlin?" I tried to get her to be on my side.
"Sorry but he's right, it's just a precaution. Stay right here, I need to get some test tubes."
"Stop taking away my blood, I don't know how much I have left!" I called after her. As I watched her walk away, I saw a blue of red, which was obviously Barry. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew my hair back, and he was standing right in front of me.
"What are you doing here?" he asked as he pulled off his mask and kissed me.
"They won't let me leave." I pouted."Maybe I'm turning into a metahuman." I joked.
"Let's hope not, your parents are arriving in a few days."
"What!?" I heard Cisco exclaim from the doorway. Our heads whipped around to look at him."Oh my god this is so exciting!"
"Why are you so excited, Cisco?" Caitlin asked as she came back into the room.
"Bethan's parents are coming!"
"That's great! I can't wait to meet them!"
"Should we bring them here?"
"Maybe, it would be a cool thing to check out while they at here. Oh, and they can go on a tour around the city."
"Yeah, and they can meet Dr Wells, and-"
"Guys!" I interrupted them. They turned to face me."I think they may want to see their daughter and her fiance first. Don't worry, you'll still meet them."
Cisco laughed."Sorry."
"Anyway, Bethan, the results have come back perfect again." Caitlin started.
"So no more tests?"
"Not exactly."
I groaned."Urgh, Cailtin-"
"Just a few more, please? You know I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't necessary."
"Fine." I sighed.
She smiled."I promise it'll be over before your parents get here."
"Thanks Caitlin."
She then walked out with Cisco, leaving Barry and I still in the room.
"Are you ok?" I asked him, noticing that his usual happy demeanour wasn't there.
"Yeah it's just...I'm nervous." he admitted after some hesitation.
"Aw, Barry." I giggled.
"Come on, it's your parents. This is a big deal."
"I know it is babe but be real here; they love you already, they said so themselves."
"Really?"
"Yes, I wouldn't lie to you."
"No offence but that doesn't really help."
"Even if they didn't like you, I'd still be with you."
"Yeah right." he pecked me on the lips.
"Where else am I going to find a boyfriend who is not only a genius but a superhero?"
