I woke up to hear someone speaking on the phone. I knew who it was and I went back to snuggle into my covers. They ended their conversation, their footsteps getting closer to my closed door, where they knocked. I called for them to come in, revealing their face.
"Thank you for bringing me back, Barry." I mumbled, rubbing my eyes.
"It's perfectly fine. So you think you'll be ok now?" He asked, sitting on the edge of the bed next to me.
"Yeah. I need to go down to the station later, answer some questions you know."
"I have to go now, but I'll see you later, ok?" His hand reached out to stroke my hair back and he leant down, kissing my temple. It was only until after he left that I realised how normal that felt.
As usual, the questions at the station were endless. All of them weren't worth asking but if it helped with the investigation as to why my friend had turned into a maniac then I would go along with it. However, I kept looking around the station, trying to spot Barry. But every time I caught myself doing this, I had to remind myself that we weren't together anymore, even though Barry had shown a little display of affection this morning. It would be better if I didn't question it but I was so curious as to why he had done it.
Once my questioning was finished, I was allowed to leave the station. My plan was to go to S.T.A.R labs and help clean up the mess/damage that had been done.
"Bethan!" I heard Joe's voice call.
Turning around, I weakly smiled."Hi, Joe."
"I know how hard this is. I've been through something like this before."
"Ohz I'm sorry."
"It's alright. These are for you." He handed me a few letters."They're the dates and forms to fill out for the trial of Rose and 'Nameless'."
"So soon?"
"Yeah, well, we need to know what else this guy has been up to. Barry said he was ruthless."
"What do I have to do?"
"You're going to be a witness. They'll probably ask you questions on your last with her as well as what happened on the night of the attack."
"Look, I've got to go. Uh, I'll see you around."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Caitlin and I were sweeping up the debris left over from some of the fighting whilst Cisco tried to reprogramme some of the electrics. It was a boring job but it had to be done. Wells was no where to be seen but when I asked about it, neither of them knew where he was. We cleaned in silence, each bit of damage replaying the night in our heads.
"Do you have your letters for the trial yet?" Caitlin asked.
"Yeah. I'm not looking forward to it." I answered.
"I don't think any of us are." Cisco joined in.
"Let's not think about it, not until it's actually happening." Caitlin tried to brighten the mood."So, Barry stayed with you last night?"
I should have known that this would be coming."Yes but only because I was upset."
"Are you back together?" Cisco seemed excited.
"No, we aren't."
"Oh, sorry."
"No, it's fine! I mean, why wouldn't it be?"
"You saw how Bary was before. He gets angry so easily, he can't calm down anymore because it was usually you who did it. He's been upset a lot too. I think he just needs you."
"If he needed me so much then why did he break up with me?"
Cisco walked over to us."You know why, he thought you would be better protected. And you have, haven't you?"
"Well yes, but..."
"But?"
"I miss him so much."
S.T.A.R labs was finally cleaned and fixed. The three of us were exhausted but we felt proud of ourselves; it was a big place and we needed to clean all of it. There was no way that we could hire a cleaning team as they could stumble upon something like the meta humans or even something about the Flash. We were now eating pizzas and sitting down, I mean, we deserved it.
Wells entered the lab along with Barry, they seemed to be discussing something, though they stopped once they saw us.
"Thanks guys, I'm starving." Barry smiled as he spotted the pizza. We all protected our boxes.
"No way, we've worked hard for these pizzas." Cisco protested.
"Come on guys, just one slice."
"If your so hungry, why don't you order one for yourself?" Caitlin pointed out.
We were all hit with a gust of wind as Barry ran out of the lab. Only a few seconds later, Barry was back with his own box of pizza.
"God, I wish I had super speed." Cisco sighed.
Wells disappeared again soon after that an the four of us just lounged around. Caitlin and Cisco had gotten into an argument over a recent scientific discovery. Barry and I just sat back and watched, amused by their bickering. As they got more into it, Barry took my hand, taking us away from them both.
"Barry, where are we going?" I asked as we walked down the corridor.
"Anywhere away from those two." He smiled, still holding my hand.
I stopped walking, taking my hand out of Barry's."Barry, what are you doing?"
He looked sad at my actions."What do you mean?"
"All of these gestures are just weird. Why are you doing this?"
"I-I don't know."
"Seriously? Come on, just tell me."
"I just miss you."
"Well let's get back together! You saw how we were in there, we were talking and laughing just like old times."
"I don't know-"
"Oh for gods sake!"
I grabbed his cheeks and kissed him. I could feel that he was shocked but he soon wrapped his arms around me in the fashion that he always did. We were stood there for a while, embracing what we had both missed.
We pulled away as we heard Cisco moan."Guys, I'm glad you're back together but could you just not?"
