Sailors do not love the sea
Only when she's clear
They stay the course, right the ship
Until rough waters smooth to steer
He does not begrudge the tides
For moving as they may
The seaman learns to follow
Swelling where they sway
He rides along with surging storms
Adores them as their eyes
The sailor rides the rocking wave
E'en as they crest dark skies
For he does not love the sea
Only when winds blow strong
He settles back against the bow
To wait her out in song
