I woke up with the sun in my eyes.  I didn't even remember when I went to bed last night. I got out of bed and trudged slowly down the stairs. At the bottom step I stumbled, Why does the twins always leave their toys out?! I tossed the toy across the room and it landed softly on the couch. When in the kitchen I reached for the cupboard for some cereal. But then I noticed the note my mom had left for us kids. I picked it up and read it slowly,

"Kids,

I left for the store and I'll be back in an hour. You guys know the emergency numbers, and you know how to make breakfast. Don't burn the house down while I'm gone.

Love, Mom."

Alright then. I set the note down and poured some cereal into a bowl. I looked at the clock to see when I would have to get to school. But then I remembered. There was no school.

Just as Mom said, she was back in an hour. She just got a couple of things that we needed. And was in the back room with the twins watching "The Fairly Odd Parents". While I was in the front room texting Missy. Then I got another text from her saying, "Wanna come to the mall with me and my mom?" Of course I did! I didn't get to go to the mall very often. So I got up and went to ask my mom.

Can I go to the mall with Missy?

I asked. She nodded.

Is Missy picking you up?

She asked quickly. I held up my phone to indicate I was going to ask her. And I did. And she was. I turned back to my mom and nodded to her. I saw her sign "OK" and she went back to watching Timmy getting into trouble... AGAIN! SO I walked onto the front porch. In about fifteen minutes Missy arrived. I jumped into her mom's minivan and we drove off.
