Closing my computer, I sighed and got ready for bed.

Why did they leak the footage? Pretty sure this is a move for power. They intend to demoralize and degrade the team, hoping to shake them before the actual match in a couple days. I know for a fact it really messed with Yao Tong's head. She didn't take it very well... Hopefully, by tomorrow she will be able to function again and play to the best of her abilities because she has a lot of practicing with the team to do. They need to be at their best for their next match.

Y'know. I'm really lonely. I have a giant house to myself except when my family visits. Should I get a dog? Possibly a guard dog and get it professionally trained. That way I really wouldn't have to worry when I go out. I'll ask Mom and Cheng's opinion on the matter because I've also got work to worry about and the pup can't be home by their self if I have to leave for long periods of time.

Once I was done getting ready for bed I pulled out my phone and opened my messaging app. I clicked on 'Mr. Wall of Stone' first.

Annoyance: Hey, should I get a puppy? I'm pretty lonely in this house by myself and I could use a guard dog.

Mr. Wall of Stone: Maybe... I don't really see why not, but you have to be ready to house train him, make sure you can have one in that neighborhood, get all the supplies for it, make sure you have a trainer to take it to, and you will have to research how to train puppies. You also need to be able to have somebody check up on him if you are gone for more than a few hours. What breed are you thinking of?

Annoyance: Not entirely sure... probably either a Cane Corso, Doberman Pinscher, or a German Shepherd. Probably a German Shepherd because they are more versatile when it comes to weather. They are also really fluffy.

Mr. Wall of Stone: I agree.

Annoyance: That they're fluffy? Didn't expect that from you! 🤣

Mr. Wall of Stone: No, you buffoon! Why would you think that?! I agree that a German Shepherd would be the best option.

Annoyance: Too bad for you because I got a screenshot of that before you could defend yourself. Blackmail! Anyways, ok. I'll ask Mom if I should get a German Shepherd pup.

Mr. Wall of Stone: Remember, I also have plenty of blackmail on you. But, yeah, I also think you should clear it with Mom before doing anything.

Annoyance: Ok, thanks! That's all I needed.

I opened my texts with Mom and began to type.

(N/n): Hey, Mom, do you think I should get a German Shepherd puppy. I would like to have some company in the house and I think I should have a guard dog around just in case.

It took her a few moments before responding.

Momma <3: I agree, just make sure you have the right trainer for his guard dog training otherwise you will just have a dangerous dog that you will need to put down. Make sure you have all the necessary information about the breed, all the right supplies, a good vet, plenty of time to play with him, all the right training techniques, and a big area for him to play especially in the early years. You will also not be allowed to stay extremely late at work anymore. Once he is properly trained you could possibly bring him to work with you and keep him in your office. Just make sure he gets to go outside at proper times to use the bathroom. Make sure you understand the amount of responsibility you are placing on yourself by getting a dog.

(N/n): I understand, Momma. Thank you for the advice!

Momma <3: You're welcome, (N/n).

I shut off my phone, thinking. Do I really want or need a puppy right now? This could be a massive mistake. The upkeep is going to be something else. German Shepherds shed like nothing else and can get very messy, but on the other hand, they are great companions and guard dogs when trained right and have the right temperament and personality. I will also have to do a ton of research on how to take care of it, train it, and on a future trainer. This is going to be a lot of work. Will it be worthwhile in the long run? Most likely. Thank goodness I have a large yard. I'm going to have to get it fenced in, though.

I sat up, heading back to my computer, opening the web browser and started looking up everything I could about German Shepherds and what they will need.

By the time I got to bed it was already one o'clock in the morning. I passed out immediately, insomnia can go to the dump and wallow at the bottom of a trash heap.

The next morning I woke up and got ready for work before heading out for the day. And, boy, was it going to be a long one considering that my secretary had decided that it was best to warn me.

As I drove I thought about my future life with a puppy. I'm going to have my hands full for a long time. I'm going to have to call a company later to set a day for them to come estimate how much it will cost to fence my yard before setting a date. Its going to be expensive, I know that. As rich as I am, I hate spending money. Yes, I like shopping, but I don't like the fact that it has to cost so much now-a-days.

I finally reached my workplace and parked my car before heading inside to my office. I am going to have to work hard today if I want to be able to get home at a reasonable time tonight.
