With a sigh of pure contentment I opened my eyes to the new day. I blinked a few times as immediate light entered my vision. It was like a blurry ball of light, teasing me as it moved and moved. My brow furrowed and a small grin formed in my lips.
My fingertips traced the sheets fo the bed and one name was whisked away from my lips,"Shadow..." I then smiled and snuggled under the soft blanket laid ontop of me.
After awhile I stretched on the soft bed till my tippy-toes and sighed as my bones cracked from their sour position. Then I curled back into a ball since I still wasn't ready to let go of sleep. I turned to my side and then immediately yelped in pain as searing, hot pain sliced through my forearms. And then that was when I noticed bandages were wrapped around both my arms.
"Oh..." I said out loud. "I guess I forget about that...Stupid me." I grabbed my index finger and let it seep through one of my bandages, but of course that was a mistake since I immediately snatched it away as more pain seared through me. I grinded my teeth together and let out a small cry.
"I guess curiousity got the cat. I think you know better than that, Arielle, since your wounds are still fresh," said a melodic voice with a hint of amusement.
I jumped another mile and landed on the floor with a loud thud. I yelped and then with embarrasement looked at Shadow through my curtain of red hair. I forced a tight smile on my lips making the worried look on Shadow's crystal eyes vanish while they were replaced with a relaxed smile.
Then that's when I noticed to who I was talking to.
My eyes popped out like two saucers and then there I went - across the room like a maniac. And into Shadow's arms with a big smile on my face. I probably looked goofy, smiling and clinging to him like that, but hey, I'm happy. This is pure bliss for me.
I felt laughter bubble up Shadow's chest as he stroke my hair and lifted me more in his arms. I giggled and let my legs wrap up around his slender hips.
Shadow cocked an eyebrow at my action, but I just rolled my eyes, and wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped an arm around my waist and snuggled me closer to his chest.
"I could get used to this. I didn't realize you were this light though!" Shadow commented, chuckling as he sat on the edge of the bed with me still wrapped up on him.
"Are you calling me fat?" I said. I leaned away from him and looked up at his twinkling eyes.
"No, I'm just saying and if you were chubby I wouldn't have cared. I would only have wanted for you to be on my side," Shadow responded sincerely.
I blushed and looked down, but Shadow took hold of my chin, and looked directly at my eyes with mixed emotions which were love, caring, and honesty. I reflected those same emotions back to him though it didn't erase how intimidating his gaze was. I blushed a deeper red, but he gently ran the back of his hand along my blushing cheek. A slightl tremble went up and down my spine as he then stroke my back with his other hand.
"You know I care for you more than I friend, right?" he asked.
I swallowed. "No, not really. I mean I guess, but whenever I get too close...you don't like it. You stay away and that confuses me."
I flickered my eyes away from his attractive face, but he tilts my head back to him, and he gently rans a tender finger across my lips. I froze.
"Hmm. Excuse my rudeness. Well, I could always prove it to you...of how I really feel about you?"
