Fortunately for me I bursted through the door before Mrs. Evers could close it.
Mrs. Evers raised an eyebrow and I muttered I was in the bathroom. I felt a familiar warmth creep into my cheeks, noting my guiltness.
Mrs. Evers cleared her throat and said,"Well Ms. Martinez you made it just in time and there's only one seat left I believe and it's right next to..."--she surveyed the room--"ah yes next to Mr. Skywood."
I froze.
Mrs. Evers noticed it and said,"Is something wrong Ms. Martinez?"
I stuttered out a no and headed toward my permanent seat. I received a lot of pittying stares and my friends gave me bewildered ones. I found my seat which was on the back of the room in the left corner. I placed my stuff on it and barely looked at him. This is gonna be interesting. As I sat on my seat, staring at the board I managed to sneak a peek at him at the corner of my left eye.
The guy's name is Shadowfax Skywood--weird, huh?--he was slouched on his chair staring at the board wearing nothing, but black. And yes, he's emo, but since I don't like labels--darn them to hell--I won't be acknowledging him like that.
He's wearing a shirt with Escape the Fate in it, black tight jeans, two silver chains attached to them in the front, black converse shoes and wristbands on his wrists, and a black rossary hanging from his neck. He had spider bites piercings on his lower lip that made me have second peak.... I warmed a bit. His pure black hair was spiked around him, which I had to admitt was erotically sexy.
He somehow reminded me of Andy Six because of his style and face. Anyway, I always avoided him because he was trouble and that made him apparently popular in school.
What was passing through my mind was: I DID NOT WANT TO BE HERE AT ALL! I focused my attention to Mrs. Evers who was assigning an assignment for us. What the heck? At the first day of school, she had to be kidding me? At least I'm distracted.
Mrs. Evers voice rang through the room."I know that you guys know that at the first day of school everythings awkward right?" Shadowfax snorted softly to my left.
"Yeah well today I want you to take the time to know your partners so you would be more comfortable with them. So I'm going to pass you a few cards with questions on them saying things of where you came from and things like that. You read them to your partner and your partner goes next, the questions are going to be the same. It's easy peesy so I don't want to hear any complaints. Got it?" Her eyes wandering around the room, questioning in them. Some people groaned and some people nodded absentmindedly. Not a fabulous start to begin the day, eh?
"Get going then." I just noticed that the cards were just passed to everyone and people were turning to their partners with the cards in their hands. Dammit!
