A sharp knock had me waking me up from my nap. I groaned unhappily, who is that? I checked my Blackberry, it was 6:03 P.M. My eyes widened at the numbers and I glanced slowly at the door, realizing that he was here on my doorstep, knocking on my door!
I jumped at another knock that came from him. I swallowed at the lump in my throat. Before opening the door I ran to the kitchen, splashed some water in my face and dried my face off with a paper towel.
A third knock rang through the room and I turned around with the paper towel gripped in my hands. I threw it away in a near trash can and padded toward the front door. I fixed my hair, it probably looked like someone made a nest at the top of my head!
I took a breath and unlocked the door. A gust of cold wind blasted in my face that made me shiver. Suddenly, a dark figure knocked me down to the floor and locked the door.
I was prepared to scream, but he silenced it by placing he's fingers on my lips. He flipped he's hoodie off him and looked at me. I drew in a shaky breath that ended up dissolving. I gaped at him in shock.
He sighed, grabbed me by my arm, and lifted me off the floor to my feet.
I yelled at him,"Shadowfax, what the hell you can't just just barge in here like that!! You scared me to death!! You could've gave me a heart attack, you idiot!" What the hell man!
Shadowfax said,"Yes, but I didn't unfortunately. And I have an explanation for my barging in. Also, shut it with the shrieking."
I smacked his arm for his rudeness. I pulled away when I realized how cold it was.
"I'm just kidding okay. So relax okay? I'm not planning to murder you or anything, but seriously stop screaming at me," Shadow said calmly.
I nodded and said in a calmer, but bitter voice,"So explain what made you suddenly knock me to the floor and barge in my house?"
Shadowfax sighed and explained,"I'm sorry about that and I barged in because I was freezing out there to death. I'm not kidding if you don't believe me go check for yourself, but I'll consider you an idiot if you do so if I were you you'll trust me."
"Are you serious? Couldn't you have waited a few minutes because I recall that I didn't invite you to my house!" Now I was yelling.
Suddenly, Shadow leaned toward me and placed his forehead against mine. My breathing accelerated. What was he doing? He was so cold.
"Calm down. If I stood out there any longer I would have freezed to death! Can we get past this now and get started with our assignment. I'm sorry for intruding also." Shadowfax said in a soft voice. I just realized that he was shivering, but I hadn't notice till now.... When his body was practically vibrating against me....
I immediately stopped yelling and said softly,"It's okay Shadow. Um, you must be freezing you can seat on the couch, but take off your jacket since it's wet." Shadowfax started taking his jacket off I helped along the way.
While doing that it caused our arms to brush against each others at times. I didn't pull away. I didn't want to. He's arm felt so warm and solid despite that he was still wet. I wonder why he didn't pull away. After that I led him away from the entry doorway and toward the living room to the couch.
Shadowfax followed close behind me and placed his jacket on a chair. He looked around then looked at me. This felt so weird for some reason.
"Um, you can seat down. Do you want anything like some coffee or hot chocolate?" I said patiently. I felt like I was nursing him.
Shadow sat down on the couch, his motorcycle shoes squeaking as he moved. He looked at me curiously and then responded,"Some chocolate will do, thanks."
I nodded and padded toward the kitchen. Focusing my energy on my task and ignoring the fact that a beautiful dark-haired guy was waiting for me. Handsome was too plain to explain him.
He was also exotically sexy, I'd admitt.
