I stirred the hot chocolate with a spoon, steam rose from the movement. I grabbed the two handles of the hot chocolate filled mugs with two napkins and slowly walked to the living room.
Shadow saw me and helped me by grabbing his, so I had less to carry. I sat down and placed my mug on the table in front of us. This is so awkward, it started like this when he placed he's forehead against mine.
Shadow took a sip of his which made him sigh in pleasure. I smiled, he still must be cold.
Shadow was half done with his and decided that it was enough for him. His cheeks were flushed, he looked warmer, and his hair was plastered to his forehead.
Shadow was the first one who broke the awkward silence saying, "Thanks for the warm drink, I needed it. So we better start now before it gets too late and more colder than it already is." He looked away and scratched the back of his head with his hand.
I nodded gratefully, stood up, and said,"Yeah, we better do that. I just need to get my stuff from my room. Do you have your stuff?" He smirked at me and nodded. I arched an eyebrow and went to grab my stuff.
Two minutes later I returned to discover he's stuff on the dinning room table and him sitting in one of the chairs, ready to get it over with. I padded toward him and set my stuff next to him.
"Ok, so what do you need more answers, more stuff about myself, or help?" I said while tapping my fingers on the table.
"Well it's pretty obvious more info about each other you know since we were interrupted by the bitchy teacher." he said causally while looking at me, waiting for my response. I stifled a laugh at that. A slow grin grew on his face.
I cleared my throat and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. His eyes followed my movement which made me nervous and fidgety.
"So, like what were we talking about 'cause I don't remember at all?" I was totally clueless about that part.
He thought about this for a moment, momentarily looking away. "To be honest," he began. "I have no idea."
For some reason, we both found this amusing. We laughed softly, the sound sounding as soft and just right as the leftoever steam rising from our half-finished mugs.
I leaned back against my chair, trying to find a comfortable spot, when in reality I just wanted to grab a pillow and cuddle with it. Or somebody.
I tried not to look at Shadow or else, he'll see that very thought in my eyes. DISASTER!
"Well," I began, tucking my legs under me. "We can start on..." I frowned as nothing came in mind. Shoot.
"Going to a bar," he nodded.
I shot him a frustrated look. "What's with you and bars? Some sort of weird fetish?"
He laughed at this, he cupped the side of his neck as he explained,"No, not at all, you weird mermaid. It just randomly comes to mind."
"Or maybe it's just a fetish."
"You keep thinking that, darling."
"Stop it with the names!" I protested.
"They suit you, Anna Farris."
"Wait--what??" I stared at him in outrage. "Did--Did you just call me Anna Farris?! I am not blonde nor a dumb one!"
"Well, no, but you act some sort of damsel in distress," he said, crossing his a leg over a knee, his hand atop of it. "It's cute."
"I am offended!" I cried.
He shrugged. "You shouldn't be. I am being honest. Didn't you want that?"
I paused at that. "Well, no, not really," I said slowly, chosing my words carefully as I kept an eye on him. "I thought we needed trust first."
He smiled. "Ah, that comes secondly."
I stared at him. Ohhh him.
"I gotcha there didn't I, but it's how I am. Let's continue shall we."
I blinked at him. How interesting he was....
I spoke out. "So about this fetish... How long have you had and should I be worried about being dragged into unknown places?"
Shadow smiled at me tauntingly. "Possibly, but it can be any day. Do me a favor though."
I hesitated. "Okay, but it depends..."
"Lock your window." He sent me a dark smirk, his blue eyes flashing. I gulped--hard. Is it just me or do I feel a cold, eerie presence in the room. Now.
"Is it cold here?" I asked, rubbing my arms together.
Shadow shook his head at me, smiling.
Our evening went like that with our conversations mixed with discussions and agreements. For awhile we forgot our discussion then we got back to business, saying less of us showing more of ourselves. Throwing back and forth our favorite anything like his favorite color is purple and mine blue. He also liked blue though, he told me. We had things in common like our favorite junk food is pizza with french fries, favorite bands: All Time Low, Florence and the Machine, Linkin Park, Black Veil Brides (sweet!), Escape the Fate, Muse, and many more, and has a fascination with poetry. Now that was a shocker!
I was standing with him at the front door saying goodnight.
I had the chance to see that Shadow was dressed like in the morning, but this time he replaced his Escape the Fate shirt with a black tee shirt with long sleeves, it fit him snuggly showing his muscular, but slender body. I kept staring at his body with awe. I didn't realize how beautiful he was.
Shadow flipped his hoodie on and then put his leather jacket on, leaving it unzipped.
"So I guess I'll see you tomorrow. Unfortunately. Thanks for the chocolate it really warmed me up." Shadow said with a gentle smile one his face.
I was about to smack his arm when he added 'unfortunately' to his sentence, but spared him when he thanked me for the hot chocolate. Well, why thank you...
He opened the door letting in a cold breeze that made me cross my arms tightly over my chest and back away from the door. He smirked at me.
"See you later, pussycat." I smacked his arm angrily and he smirked at me from under his hood.
"My name is Arielle not pussycat, you jerk!" He ducked under the doorway before I fully gave him my mocking rage at him.
I grabbed a blanket and stood outside my front door, watching him laugh in the night and turning around to give me a mischievous smile, he looked beautiful under the moonlight and his skin glowed under the shine. I smiled back at him cheerfully and watched him disappear out of my sight. I went inside when he was gone and suddenly felt alone after a few moments. The house looked cheerful when he was here, but mysterious too in a way.
I sighed and settled in the couch, wanting to take a nap. I'll clean the mugs later, I thought when I glanced at them. I could smell Shadow's scent in my blanket and I exhaled at the earthly smell.
My eyes suddenly started slowly closing until my vision got blurry and I fell into the arms of sleep....
