Shadow's hands fell limp of my shoulders to his lap with a gentle thump. He looked away and glanced at me twice before he sighed and pinched his nose with his thumb and forefinger.

There really was not a lot to say. Maybe that I had completely lost my mind! Or I'm a traitor or I'm a bitch. Instead of things looking better they were looking...confusing.

Ash was brave enough to speak out in this tension--that was still spreading by the second. "So...damn. So, your saying you saw Shadow kill Sykes? Not Sebastian killing Sykes, right?"

I frowned. I really had to rethink what I had just said. Well, it could've been Sebastian since both of them had dark hair and a lean figure, but what about the eyes? Sebastian had brown eyes the last time I had checked and so that didn't make sense that all of a sudden he had blue eyes. Dammit!

"Uhm, I guess," I replied, doubt feeling those simple, small words.

"You guess?" They looked at me with raised eyebrows.

"Well, I don't know. I mean I do know, but I'm confused now!"

Ash brought his chair closer to mine while Shadow stood rigidly at my side, still in shock I guess. Stop it with the guesses!

Ash cracked his knuckles and said,"Oh, okay. I'll help you then"--Someone cleared their throat. He rolled his eyes.--"We'll help you. This will much easier and less dramatic. Okay?"

I nodded. "Yeah."

"Tell me what do you remember then. Take it easy since something is not sticking with me with all of this," Ash said, eyes sharp and narrowed.

"Are you implying I was the one who killed him? I recall that the both of us were together in a long period of time, looking for him," Shadow darkly said. I cringed and now regretted opening my mouth.  I hope he didn't think of me as a liar and a traitor. That's the last thing I need.

Ash clenched his jaw and replied,"No. I know you didn't do that. And neither does Arielle think that, okay? She's just confused, but I bet deep down she knows it wasn't you. I just want to hear this and then we'll forget about this, okay?"

Shadow glanced at me sharply and I found myself leaning away from him to Ash. I swallowed and looked at Shadow with earnest eyes.

"Shadow, I believe it wasn't you who killed him. I just want to know how and why Sebastian would try to masquerade you. That's all," I whispered and trembled as his eyes softened, and his finger made it's way along my jaw.

"Then you should have said that first since you left me here thinking that you didn't trust me and you thought me a killer. I may have fought in street fights, but I have never killed one of them. I just knocked them cold for awhile," he said. At first I thought I detected hurt in his deep voice, but I wasn't so sure.

I bit my lip. "Sorry, but this is a lot to take in. And I do trust you, Shadow." Then I leaned in and gave him a soft peck in the lips which he returned, but with more pressure than mine. I leaned back and we smiled lovingly at each other. I stared at him, admiring the perfect line of his jaw, and the intensisty of his blue eyes that went perfectly with the black abyss of his hair. Oh, I loved him so much that he practicly knocked me to my feet.

Then the other guys started groaning and making uncomfortable noises in the back of their throats. My cheeks flamed and I let my hair cover my hair while Shadow grinned and said to them,"You'll understand some day."
