Chapter Seven

"Jemima!"

Jemima turned to the sound of her name, Damilola stood by the entrance of her apartment building like she just came out of it.

"Ahan Dami... What are you doing here? by this time"

Dami chuckled, seeing her after a long time felt good, she looked very beautiful, her frontal wig, slicked to the back in a long ponytail, she wore a white bodysuit with blue baggy jeans and heels. She looked different from her Instagram pictures and Jemima was happy to see her she walked to hug her.

"I should be asking... who were you with?" Jemima would have thought its a sister-in-law protecting but she knew Dami cared less.

"He's a friend from work." Jemima giggled

"Is that so?... he's handsome."

"So... what are you doing here?"

"I came to visit a friend.. didn't know you live here. I was just heading to my car when I saw the car drive in and you stepped out."

"A friend yeah?" Jemima asked trying to ignore talking about Damola with her boyfriend's sister

Damilola laughed. "You know.. so where's your apartment?"

"The fourth floor of this... I stay with my best friend." Jemima pointed to the building they stood in front of.

"I would have loved to come in and catch up but I promised Mum to help pick out her travel outfit." She paused obviously remembering their last conversation "I could still talk to Ayo.."

"Nahh Its fine... Thanks."

"I hope you guys will be fine." She said "And if not you deserve better... maybe the one in the car that dropped you off." Jemima chuckled

"Thank you Dami."

"I've got to go.. we should catch up another time."

"Yeah sure." They hugged bye

Thankfully when Jemima got into the house Kamsi wasn't in the living room to ask about her day as it was already feeling like a blur and she wanted to remember everything, so when she showered and wore her pyjamas she reminisced her time with Damola after they left the ice cream shop.

Jemima walked into the lit living room, when she had envisioned the inside of his beach house she wasn't thinking spacious, clean and beautiful. It was already dark but she noticed the pool and a small lawn before she got into the room. It was a one room house and everything was open, the sitting room overlooked the beautiful beach, the kitchen some spaces behind the living room overlooked the pool and lawn. The kitchen was spacious and color themed just like the whole house, It was all wooden brown and black, the staircase that divided the open kitchen and living room led to the only room, opposite the staircase was a black pool table. The mattress sat on a wooden basket bedframe, next to the sliding glass that revealed a small balcony, that the big white curtains covered the sliding glass door. The only open wooden wardrobe was the near the sliding glass, near the door to the bathroom, by the left of the room was a dresser. There was a small bedside table that held a lap. She toured the house and she was impressed, the bathroom as well was on the wooden and black theme.

"Did you design this place?" She asked as she walked downstairs to meet him serving the food they had bought on their way to the house.

He pushed the plate to her when she sat on the black barstool with wooden brown legs. "Interior designer." He said joining her, taking the barstool next to her. He poured the wine in the glass.

They ate in silence until Jemima decided they needed to cheers to something "Maybe to life... no no friendship.. okay good life." They clicked their glasses and sipped their wine. "Nice wine Mr Damola."
