Two more chapters to the end... I'm gonna miss it.
CHAPTER TWELVE
Jemima would say it was happiness mixed with jealousy, deep down she wished this was her but then again she was in her mess. She had helped, being there every step, picking out the rings, helping pick the venue, the bouquet of lilies Kamsi was holding, the candles, everything that made the proposal beautiful as she watched it. Being a part of the plan warmed her heart, seeing her friend tear up in excitement over warmed her heart, it pleased her to be among those watching.
Ade went on one knee and said the speech that made her very unserious friend start crying, a speech he had used months to write and compose, she knew Kamsi didn't hear a word from all the crying, messing up her make-up. Jemima and others, Ade's family and best friend, Kamsi's Mum and only brother peeped through the slightly opened door Kamsi hadn't noticed when she walked to the rooftop, they were hiding because it was a surprise and they enjoyed the scene from the room.
Kamsi nodded yes a couple of times before saying it with her cracked voice, she bent to be on the same level as Ade to kiss him while he slid the ring on her finger. They stood up as Kamsi admired her ring before kissing Ade and hugging him happily on cue for the small party of family and friends to come out from their hiding place screaming surprise. Jemima was the first to get to Kamsi, a tissue already in her hand to give the crying soon-to-be bride. Jemima was excited for her friend's future, she was more excited than the bride
"Congratulations girl."
"Thank you." They hugged while Kamsi cleaned her tears even though more was still dropping. "Girlllll I'm engaged!" Kamsi screamed in excitement.
"Yass girl." Jemima giggled looking at the ring she already saw, the diamond fit Kamsi's finger and it shined bright.
"You knew about this?" Jemima nodded but before Kamsi could say more Mrs Loveday interrupted them, enveloping her daughter in a hug.
Jemima stood back as her emotions went override, she watched everyone chatter as she was deep in thoughts.
***********
