A short piece after Chapter Eight

Thoughts

It may seem like she is the one cheating, but she may have had her suspicions about Ayo cheating. She didn't know if it was true but felt like an outcast in her relationship. She was doing everything but her everything wasn't paying off. It felt forced sometimes, it felt one-sided, and sometimes it felt good. Calling her baby made her insides dance, when I miss you sounded divine to cause her tummy to squeal in happiness when all that mattered was being in his space all the time. When sending a simple good morning text made her day, no good morning text from him made her day bad and even with that she was too stubborn to text him first.

He may not be cheating physically, with a woman but emotionally he was cheating and it made her heart break. She watches how people say their man is intentional, but she can't say so for Ayo, For ten months she has done more complaining than feeling his love. They say a man spoils you if he loves you, just maybe Ayo is not in that man category. They've broken up twice when Ayo started to act weird, she was confused at first as things changed too fast. She had made a joke about how his saying baby made her feel and instead of saying it more often, he stopped and started saying it when he wanted to apologize or when he wanted something. She began to feel like a present only when he wanted it and when he had gotten it he switched his love off and from the beginning of their relationship to the present she didn't understand.

She was in her feelings,  a lot of feelings colliding and it made her head ache, she felt sad and lost, and she felt like her back was against a wall that didn't want to come down. Seeing Damola in Abuja and how he had made it clear that he wanted her, it wasn't the first time he was saying it but it hit her then. He didn't exactly want them to have a title just yet as she was still in her relationship but he was ready to start fighting for her if she wanted him to. But because She respected Ayo a lot she shut Damola's advances but she sort of regretted it after it left her mouth. She loved his attention, she loved how he made her feel beautiful, how he communicated his love and her love. Her heart always beat in happiness when they talked, she felt different with him, she felt more chilled and like herself and she wondered if she was pretending with Ayo.

At the back of her mind, she imagined her relationship with Ayo was over but she still knew he was coming back with an apology.
