SIRIUS BLACK WAS NEVER ONE TO dwell on the past, not until it came to Loralie Peverell. In which case that was all that ever took up space in his mind.

It had been two weeks since she told him that she would always love him in front of all his friends and girlfriend, though, he wasn't quite sure why. Sure, he loved the girl, but never as anything more than a friend really.

But then she hit Lana with a stinging jinx and walked away proudly before pulling Sebastian Mulciber into a heated kiss. He thought that action alone was enough to contradict her previous statement.

She left him in a state of total and utter confusion.

But alas, here he was thinking about the girl at one in the morning as he lie awake in bed. Unknowing that he had done the same thing every night since he was ten years old.

Loralie Peverell roamed the courtyard of Hogwarts, her hands going up and down her arms to keep warm. She hadn't planned well and was only wearing a pair of Sirius's old pajama pants and one of Remus's old jumpers, and not the warm and fluffy one.

Her eyes stayed on the grass below her feet, every so often coming up to look at the Black Lake.

She let the stars guide her, allowing them to dictate where she went and at what pace, following their every move and letting herself fall back into old patterns, unknowingly to her.

She couldn't help herself from sitting under her tree, staring up at them and subconsciously keeping her gaze on the dog star.

It was her favorite after all.

         It always would be.

Her mind was scattered as she watched the in and out gleaming of stars. Thoughts from Sirius to Sebastian, to even Lana. But they would all fall back to how much she missed her boy.

Her boy who always made her smile. Her boy who always knew what she was thinking. Her boy who always treated her like a queen and worshipped the ground she walked on. Her boy who despite everything, could do no wrong.

She wondered how her life had gone from being absolutely perfect to having the rug ripped out from under her feet and caused everything she once knew to be so light and vibrant to dark and dull.
