Kai and Sehun had gone to their respective companies for some important meetings regarding their projects. While Sehun had immersed himself in work, oblivious to everything happening around him, he seemed remarkably chill.
Linda noticed this and slid beside him, saying, "Welcome, boss. Also, welcome, happy boss. I've never seen you this relaxed and smiley. I guess my honeymoon plan worked, huh?"
Sehun sighed, "Right. I totally forgot about how you messed up the honeymoon plan. Good thing you reminded me. I'll make sure to remember it during your next paycheck."
Linda stood there with her hands joined, as if begging and praying to Sehun simultaneously, "Sorry, sorry, sorry! I really didn't mean to mess it up! I didn't think it was a ruse; I thought you really wanted to go on a honeymoon. I mean, with Mr. Kim, who wouldn't?"
Sehun nodded, unaware of his response as he recalled the morning moments he shared with Kai, "True, that. Uh... I mean, shut up and stop giving excuses!" Linda looked at him with suspicion, "Okay, okay... Let's revise today's meeting agenda."
On the other hand, Kai couldn't catch a breath of relief. He was worried about Sehun and his family, as the threat posed by someone named Bunny had re-entered their lives. Kai had yet to tell Sehun the truth, knowing it would break him to the core. Initially, Kai had responded that Bunny couldn't make it to the wedding, and Sehun still had no idea that Bunny had never truly loved him – it was all a facade. Kai had to inform Sehun about the situation before Bunny revealed everything himself in a twisted manner, which he was sure to do.
However, as a CEO, Kai also had to attend to his duties. Somehow, he managed to attend meetings, paying attention and making crucial decisions regarding the company. Though, as soon as the meeting concluded, he left the office without sparing a second.
He had to pick up Sehun, but the latter still had some work left to complete. In the meantime, Kai had scheduled a meeting with Shawn, whom he had been trying to track down for the past few days.
Finally, the group was getting together, as Jason would join them too. They met up at a shabby, low-lying bar, which probably used to be their hangout spot back in the day. As they faced each other, just like they used to, they could think, smell, and remember their past memories and the bond they had created over the years.
"So... I have something to tell you," Shawn broke the ice. As the other two leaned in, Shawn held Kai's hand and took a deep breath before continuing dramatically, "Kai, it might come as a shock. Bunny's ex is none other than your husband."
Kai flicked off Shawn's hand, saying, "We already know that, dummy!" Shawn sighed in relief, "That's a relief!" Jason chimed in, "Here, I'll get you up to speed." He went on to explain all the events that had transpired over the past few days.
"How did you come to know about Sehun and Bunny's past?" Jason asked.
Shawn laughed awkwardly, "Because he told me back in the day. You guys were close, having grown up together; we only knew each other at times. And to be clear, he didn't mention anything about his evil plan that we later got to know. I knew that he was dating Sehun at that time." Kai and Jason nodded, as they had no choice but to accept it.
Shawn continued, "But damn, I knew Bunny was bad. Now, he's turned evil." Shawn was genuinely shocked.
Kai shrugged, "If you don't stop victimizing yourself, you turn into a monster day by day. That's what happened with him. He still blames us, me for his life."
Shawn banged his hand on the table, saying, "We have to stop him." Jason nodded in agreement, "Let's track him down."
Kai sighed, "There's no use; he'll show up himself. We just have to be prepared. We have to be careful; we all have family, our loved ones to lose, and he's got nothing. He's not going to hold back." Jason and Shawn firmed themselves, mentally preparing for the challenges ahead.
Jason's eyes narrowed, "We need to come up with a plan to protect ourselves and our loved ones." Shawn nodded, "I agree. We can't just sit back and wait for Bunny to make his move."
Kai rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. "I've been thinking... maybe it's time we told Sehun the truth." Shawn's eyes widened, "Are you sure that's a good idea? He's still recovering from the last time Bunny hurt him."
Kai sighed, "I know, but we can't keep this from him forever. He deserves to know what's going on." Jason nodded, "I agree with Kai. We should tell him, but we need to do it carefully."
Just then, Kai's phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen and saw a text from Sehun. "Hey, I'm done with my meetings. Can you pick me up?" Kai smiled, feeling a sense of relief. "I'll be right there."
As Kai stood up to leave, Shawn grabbed his arm. "Hey, be careful, okay? We don't know what Bunny's capable of." Kai nodded, "I will. Let's meet up again tomorrow to discuss our plan."
With that, Kai left the bar and headed to pick up Sehun. As he drove, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that Bunny was still out there, waiting for his chance to strike. But Kai was determined to protect Sehun, no matter what it took.
When Kai arrived at Sehun's office building, he was greeted with a bright smile. "Hey, thanks for picking me up," Sehun said, sliding into the passenger seat. Kai smiled back, feeling his heart skip a beat. "Anytime."
As they drove home, Kai couldn't help but steal glances at Sehun. He knew that he had to tell him the truth soon, but for now, he just wanted to enjoy the peacefulness of the moment. Little did he know, their peace was about to be shattered.
As they drove home, Sehun chatted about his day, oblivious to the worries that had been plaguing Kai. Kai listened intently, trying to push aside his concerns and focus on the present moment.
When they arrived home, Sehun headed straight for the kitchen to make dinner. Kai followed him, watching as he expertly chopped vegetables and stirred the pot.
As they sat down to eat, Kai couldn't help but feel a sense of normally washing over him. This was what he wanted – a quiet life with Sehun, free from the drama and stress of their past.
But as they finished dinner and began to clear the table, Kai's phone buzzed again. This time, it was a text from an unknown number.
"Look what I found," the message read, accompanied by a photo of Sehun and Bunny together.
Kai's heart sank as he felt a wave of fear wash over him. He knew that he had to protect Sehun, but he also knew that he couldn't keep the truth from him any longer.
"Sehun, we need to talk," Kai said, his voice shaking slightly.
Sehun looked up from loading the dishwasher, a concerned expression on his face. "What's wrong?"
Kai took a deep breath before speaking. "It's about Bunny. I have something to tell you, and it's not going to be easy to hear."
Sehun's expression changed from concern to alarm. "What is it?"
Kai hesitated, unsure of how to begin. But before he could say anything, the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it," Sehun said, heading for the door.
Kai's heart sank as he watched Sehun walk away. He knew that their peace was about to be shattered, and he was powerless to stop it.
As Sehun opened the door, Kai saw a figure standing in the shadows. And as the figure stepped forward, Kai's worst fears were confirmed.
"Bunny," Sehun said, his voice shaking with surprise.
Kai's eyes locked onto Bunny's, and he knew that their nightmare was far from over.
