It had been a week since Elena woke up in Paris, though she was still stressed, the kitchen wasn't filled with baked goods; though Klaus would only admit to himself that he missed smelling whatever delicious pastry was on Elena's menu.
"It seemed that Damon and Stefan got the deal after all," Elena spoke from her balcony, taking in the breathtaking sight that Paris offered. "You and your hybrids left Mystic Falls."
"Yes, but I don't think taking you with me was a part of their deal, love." Klaus replied, leaning up against the doorframe of her room.
"Guess that is something they will have to get over now, isn't it?"
Klaus arched an eyebrow, he could clearly tell that something had changed in Elena's personality, had it something to do with the magic she now suddenly possessed?
"Something is different about you," Klaus spoke, making the human doppelganger turn to face him, her eyebrows raised.
"Is that a bad thing?"
"I have no idea, love, guess we both are going to find out, now, aren't we?"
Elena let out a small laugh, turning back to look out at the view. "What is fun to do here?"
Klaus arched an eyebrow at her question. "It's Paris, love, you can do anything here."
That doesn't put yourself in harm's way...
Klaus decided to take Elena on a small tour, to show her what Paris had to offer, she was more focused on listening to Klaus talk about his time in Paris, they were on the main avenue of Champs-Élysées, surrounded by designer shops, music and bookstores and cafes.
They stopped at Place de la Concorde, also known as 'Harmony Square' which was ironic considering that this was where a number of public executions happened during the dark days of French history.
"Did you meet Queen Marie Antoinette?"
"I've met a lot of royalties throughout my years," Klaus began, smiling a little as he played with a small figurine of Marie Antoinette. "None stood out the most as Marie Antoinette."
"What was she like?"
"Youthful. She knew what Elijah and I were and yet did not treat us any different." Klaus replied. "When they came for her, she entrusted her children into Elijah's care."
Elena didn't push on the subject as they walked past the Arc de Triomphe, it seemed they had walked a long way and ended back on Champs-Élysées.
The moment was ruined when Elena's stomach growled, making Klaus laugh. "Let's get you some food."
Elena watched as Klaus spoke in perfect French to the waitress, the woman was in her early thirties and seemed to be flirting with Klaus – only to look insulted when Klaus motioned towards Elena.
Rude.
Elena's nose twitched when Klaus's drink order came, the scent of blood mixed with coffee, and she noticed that the waitress had a bandage around a fresh wound.
After they had their full, mainly Elena, they walked around a bit more before returning to the compound; their joyous moment soured the moment they stepped out onto their floor, Klaus's eyes landed on Elijah.
"Ah, Elijah."
"Niklaus," Elijah glanced towards Elena. "And I thought kidnapping was beneath you."
"Kidnapping?" Elena replied, glancing towards Klaus. "Klaus didn't kidnap me, Elijah."
"Are you saying that you are here by your own free will?"
"Well – I did wake up on a boat – Yacht." Elena replied, with a shrug and then sighed. "Did the Salvatores tell you that Klaus kidnapped me? He actually saved me from Alaric."
"After you saved me."
"Explain." Elijah asked (demanded), he paused at Elena's facial expression and the annoyance across Klaus's face. "Please."

They spent the next few minutes retelling everything that happened in Mystic Falls, Elijah mentioned that he and Kol were doing some research about Elena's sudden magical abilities that surfaced, one witch even declared it as 'Chaos magic'.
A power that could bring down entire cities or universes if not wielded properly, it could also kill the witch as well if they weren't trained correctly on how to control the power – but who could possibly train Elena on this?
There were a few witches that owed Klaus and Elijah favours, but even their type of magic was different to Elena's, they needed someone more adapted to knowledge over a thousand years at least and the only witch they knew that was at least that old – was Esther.
Was this what Muninn was talking about?
Elijah paused in his discussion with Klaus, turning to face Elena immediately. "How do you know that name?"
Elena blinked her eyes, looking confused. "Huh?"
"Huginn and Muninn were the nicknames mother called Freya and Finn when they were children," Elijah explained, twirling his glass of Scotch, transfixed on the swirling amber liquid as he spoke. "When Freya died, mother stopped using those names – how is it that you, Elena, know that name?"
"You both won't believe me," She began, sighing as she leaned back onto the sofa.
"You'll be surprised what I would believe, Elena." Klaus replied, witch a devious smirk. "You forget, we know when you lie – your heart skips a beat."
"Right." Elena replied, taking Klaus's drink from his hand, quickly downed it in one go and began her story about dreaming of the unknown witch.
---
"What do you think, brother?"
"About what, Elijah? The fact that Elena has some sort of magical power that may end up killing her or destroy the world if she doesn't control it? Or the fact that you believe this 'Muninn' Elena keeps dreaming about is our dead sister, Freya?" Klaus scoffed, leaning on the balcony's railing, peering down at the streets below. "What if this is another one of mother's tricks? Making us believe that Freya is alive and when we lower our guard that is when she strikes?"
Elijah leaned against the doorframe, listening to Klaus's words. "But what if Freya is alive?"
"If this witch is truly Freya, and she's been alive all this time... Where the hell has she been all of these years?" Klaus hissed, turning to face him. "A thousand years had passed since Freya laid eyes on her family, Elijah and look what become of us! We made a promise, always and forever – and yet, we are separated across the globe not because of Mikael but because of mother."
"I know brother, but we can't sit around and do nothing." Elijah replied, placing a hand on Klaus's shoulder. "We can't put our faith into 'what ifs', we must come up with a plan, perhaps taking Elena to New Orleans."
"No."
"Then I shall go, alone," Elijah sighed at Klaus's stubbornness. "I shall see what information I can acquire."
"Be safe, brother."
Elijah follows Klaus's gaze, they both watched Elena Gilbert soaking up the sun with Rebekah and Chyanne beside her. "You too, brother.
___
So, Elijah made a short appearance.
