"Hey, look here!"
Satoru had so many pictures of you both. Some might say too many, but Satoru didn't think that way. And when Kiyo came into your lives, he took more and more, so much that even Satoru might admit that it's quite a bit. Forget a singular album, he could probably make an entire manga series out of how many pictures he had of his family.
"We just woke up, Satoru," you groaned, trying to shove him to the side. He didn't budge. "I haven't even brushed my teeth."
"I'd love you even without teeth," Satoru answered immediately.
You grinned, throwing your head back on your pillow. "Okay, I'm just going back to sleep if you're gonna bother me."
"Nooo, Kiyo is gonna wake up soon," Satoru whined. "I have to take a picture!"
"You know the plan, right?" Satoru asked, for what felt like bajillionth time.
"Yes," you replied, for the bajillionth time. "I know it so well, I probably know it better than the daughter I gave birth to. Okay? If you ask me one more time, it might slip out of my mind."
Satoru chewed at his lip. You'd never seen him so nervous for a mission. You were all to go to Shibuya at night, when everyone was dressed up in their costumes and partying. You didn't know what was going to happen exactly - no one did.
"What's Suguru gonna do?" You asked, trying to take his mind off of it.
"I told him to be on standby," Satoru replied. "He's keeping the girls at home, but they're pretty insistent that they can handle themselves. He'll only come if I call him."
You nodded. "That's good..."
He nodded as well, absentmindedly mimicking you.
"Wanna watch a movie?"
"What?"
You immediately shrunk into yourself. "Okay, no, bad idea... I just figured cause we have like many more hours of waiting, we could watch a shitty horror movie or something... but it's fine. We don't have to. That was dumb of me to suggest, we have more important things-"
"A horror movie on halloween is kinda cliche, don't you think? I sorta wanna watch a chickflick."
You grinned slowly. Satoru had already went over to the couch, laying down comfortably, and putting his legs up on the coffee table. "A chickflick on halloween?" You asked, raising your brows as you walked over to him, leaning over the couch. "The whole point of halloween is to be scared - why wouldn't we watch a horror movie?"
"Because," Satoru argued. "It is the most cliche thing ever. We should watch a hallmark Christmas movie instead."
You laughed, loudly. The sound filled up Satoru's heart. "Come on, I haven't watched a scary movie in forever, Kiyo always ends up interrupting - be my adult movie buddy, will you?"
Satoru grinned at you slyly, repeating your words more sensually. "Adult movie buddy?"
You moved away from the couch, rolling your eyes. "Oh, shut up. You're a big wuss."
"No, no!" Satoru insisted, laughing. He reached out for your wrist and pulled you back. "Come on," he whined. "Be my adult movie buddy!"
"I'm gonna kill you before anything else gets the chance to."
"You... have to be safe, okay?" Satoru reminded you one last time. He didn't know why he felt so on edge about this. Special grades, he could deal with them. He would be fine, and most importantly you and everyone else would be fine too.
"You, too," you told him. "Don't get too tired. We gotta pick up Kiyo for Halloween."
You were planning on going to some rich neighborhoods in America so she could get those big candy bars.
"Right," Satoru grinned at you. He wanted to kiss you before he left you. He really, really wanted to kiss you. Or just hug you and maybe never let go. But he settled for a nod and then turned away, walking towards the veil.
"Satoru!"
His head whipped around and he barely had time to process when you jumped into his arms and brought him into a hug. Holy shit. Your arms were wrapped around his shoulders bringing him down into a hug. "I don't know what's gotten you so worried, but it made me worried too." Satoru wrapped his arms around your middle, bringing you closer. Holy shit, you hugged him. You ran into his arms. Holy shit. "Don't forget about Kiyo. She'll cry if she sees a single scratch on you."
"I know," Satoru nodded, wanting to rest his head on your shoulder. He wanted to melt into this hug, he already practically had. "I always go into missions thinking about you and Kiyoko. About what I'm gonna buy for you guys once I get it over with, or how much time I'll be able to spend with you guys if I get every mission for the week done within a day or two. There's not a moment when I'll forget you or Kiyo."
You, too. Not just Kiyo. He always reminded you.
He felt you tense slightly, as you pulled back from him. Did he put you off? Was all of that too much? Oh my goodness, did he ruin everything again?
"We should go to Panda Express after trick or treating," you suggested, as casual as can be. "I've always wanted to try."
"Yeah..." Satoru nodded. He was focused on the fact that your hand still held onto his. His mind was racing. He felt like he was being led on a little, but if it was you, he would never ever complain. You could lead him on whenever you wanted.
"Awww, this is our wedding," Satoru smiled, grabbing your wedding album.
"You cried, remember? You barely knew me and you cried."
"Just because we hadn't known each other for a long time didn't mean we didn't know each other by then," Satoru argued. "And besides, you teared up, which is basically the same thing."
"But you like, ugly cried!"
"Excuse me," Satoru scoffed. "I have never ugly cried. I stunningly sob."
You laughed, punching his shoulder. "You'll for sure ugly cry when Kiyo gets married."
Satoru almost burst into tears on the spot "Why would you ever say that?!"
You and Kiyo are his biggest weaknesses and he's not ashamed to admit that.
gee i wonder how that quote ends ...? (2 more updates yay!)
