Paisley's POV
I wake up, and try to sit up, but I feel an arm laying across my stomach, preventing me from doing so. Panic bubbles up within me until I look down and see a gorgeous curly haired boy still asleep beside me. Did Ashton fall asleep while laying with me and waiting for me to go to sleep? I decide to ignore all the thoughts and questions swirling around inside me. Laying back down into my previous position, I look at Ashton's flawless face. He looks so peaceful and happy when he's asleep. My fingers don't even wait for my mind to justify their actions before they reach up to brush away a stray curl from Ashton's forehead. Then, my fingertips trail down the left side of his face towards his jawline and they swerve to the right and make a beeline to where the skin of his pink lips meet his golden tan skin. Slowly, I trace his soft lips and feel my heartbeat increase, once again.
Realizing that I'm being a total weirdo right now, I retract my hand away from him. I kiss him on the cheek and he stirs a little bit. Hopefully he doesn't wake up because of my weirdness. I nuzzle up next to him, like the way we were before, hoping that this would put him back to sleep, and I reach around him to wrap my arms around him in a tight hug as I bury my face in the crook of his neck.
A few minutes pass by as I lay here, feeling as comfortable and safe as ever, and suddenly I feel Ashton's body start to shift again, probably waking up. His hand makes contact with my back and begins to rub small circles on my skin while his other hand remains around my waist. I'm too comfortable and lazy to pull myself out of this cozy cuddle.
Ashton's POV
Waking up to find the girl you love in your arms is just about as good as it gets. I smile to myself and my heart does a little flip. We silently lay here together for a little while longer, and I think she must have fallen back asleep because her breathing slows down into a steady, constant pace.
How would I tell her parents that I planned on taking her on a little surprise trip for almost a week? Hopefully they will agree because I've got some things up my sleeve for Paisley that I think she'll love.
Speaking of her loving things, I slightly pull away from Paisley and look down at her neck, only to see the heart necklace that I gave her still around it. I blush and kiss the top of her head, even though she isn't awake. She's a really heavy sleeper, actually, which is good because, I'm not going to lie, I snore sometimes.
After a little longer of relaxing, I hear what sounds like footsteps coming down the hall towards Paisley's bedroom door. Reluctantly, I pull out of our hug and slide back down onto the floor, trying to be as quiet as possible about it. Fortunately, I remember to tug my shirt back on before anyone gets any wrong ideas. I look back up onto Paisley's bed and see her jerk awake with a groggy look on her face. She was still adorable any way you looked at her.
The doorknob twisted and I pretended to just barely be waking up so nobody would assume that something was going on. A girl with long ombre brown hair entered the room and smirked at me. It was just Adrianna.
"Oops, did I ruin the make out session that you two were having before I got in here?" First, she ruined our cute little moment, and then she decides to tease us about it. I turned around and Paisley lifts her head up to look at Adrianna and let's out a tired groan as she lets her face land back onto the pillow. I'm guessing that she's not a morning person, haha. Neither am I, but with the way I was woken up, I could definitely get used to mornings.
The three of us go downstairs for breakfast, which consists of pancakes and bacon cooked by Mr. Hathaway.
"Thank you, sir," I say politely when Paisley's dad hands me my plate of food and nods. I dig into my pancakes and Paisley is still sitting at the table with her plate in front of her as she stares off into space. She snaps out of her little trance when I wave my hand in front of her face. I wonder what she was thinking about.
