Ashton's POV
I feel awful about the way people found out about us. They didn't even know that it was true for sure because the boys hadn't made any comments to the rumors, and neither had I.
My phone bleeped again as new pictures of us at the ring toss game and Paisley hugging me were just now posted. I don't even know where these people are! We were hugging like not even a minute ago and I didn't see anyone taking pictures.
If it weren't for me, she wouldn't be getting this hate, and I feel like it's all my fault. I love her, and I want to protect her. I don't understand how the fans could do that, she's practically perfect in my eyes, with all of her miniscule flaws included.
To put the rumors to rest and hopefully stop some of the mean tweets, I post a tweet that might stop the little issues:
Hey guys. So it is true that I'm dating Paisley and I really do love her. I'd appreciate it if you'd be a bit nicer towards us. Thanks
I didn't really know what to say, I mean how are you going to tell a bunch of people that you love and that love you back that you're kind of upset with them? It's not easy. I'm glad that Paisley's parents don't have Twitter because they probably would have gotten mad. Maybe at me because I'm the reason that all of this started in the first place, but I don't know.
When we're done hugging I hold her by the shoulders and say, "It doesn't matter what they say, the haters are wrong. They're just jealous because you're so amazing, don't let it bother you. I'm so sorry love."
She sadly nods and flips her hair so it's laying on her back more than her chest. She's beautiful, she really is, and I just wish that she could see that.
Paisley's POV
We find the rest of my family and continue to stroll around the park. For the most part, we were all having a good time, but the thoughts of all the tweets that Ashton had gotten we're all still at the back of my mind. It seems like the only people that really accepted us were my family, the boys, Paula, Alyssa, and Adrianna, sort of.
Ashton really seems to be enjoying himself, and it seems like he's trying to forget about what happened earlier, like he told me that I should as well. He's right though, I can't let a couple of mean things rain on my parade.
In all reality, Ashton and I had probably stopped to eat at restaurants more times than I can count, but I know that it was a big number. He was the one that was getting all the food, mainly. I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner and got refills on my drinks, but that was about it, besides a couple snacks, here and there. Ashton had a full on meal almost every other time we went to a restaurant. He was crazy, but he's a growing boy, I suppose. What can you do?
It's late afternoon, and I'm feeling a lot better after what happened today, mainly because I tried to forget it and focus on Ashton's birthday, which worked. We've seen so many things today, like the turtles, sharks, dolphins, Pets Rule show, bat rays, seals/sea lions, aquariums, starfish, and everything in between. The sun is setting in the pinkish San Diego sky, which means that it's time for my surprise for Ashton. It's perfect timing too, because we're right by the Shamu exhibit, right where we need to be.
I sneakily inform my parents, without Ashton noticing, about the plan and fortunately, they don't blow it for me, like I expected they would. They're completely shocked and slightly impressed that I went out of my way, with my own money, to make Ashton happy, especially since I'm not the richest person in the world. After a couple years of saving and not spending, I'd managed to scrape together about $600, and this date cost almost $200, but he was worth every bit of it, down to the very last penny.
