"Riss, which tie do I wear? Black or grey." Paul rushed up to you, extending the two options of his ever so colorful ties.
"I think black. Because you're already wearing a black suit and it just looks better on film." You advised.
"Perfect, thanks love." He winked at you and scurried off to a mirror, standing up straight and fixing his tie.
Butterflies jerked around in your stomach at his action. You blushed. Paul had some charm about him that did that to you.
"He knew what tie to wear. He's just asking you because he fancies you." A voice said into your ear.
You turned to see John standing next to you, his eyes averting your's as he had a "knowing" look on his face. It was hard to describe, but he was almost pretending like he never said that to you, waiting to elicit a reaction from you as he hummed and darted his eyes to another part of the dressing room.
"Is that so?" You asked, eyebrows raised.
John nodded.
"Well, I'm proper devoed now. I know we can never date, so what's the point?" She shrugged, organizing the dressing room. "You're on in 10, by the way. Go fix your tie." She shooed him off.
However, John being himself, pressed on. "Why is that?" He inquired with a smirk, crossing his arms.
"Because if we ever did breakup, I would have to quit my job." She told him.
"I don't think it would be that awful. C'mon, stop being so pessimistic. You know you fancy him. I see the love eyes you make at him. I mean, what can I say, he is tall, dark and handsome all wrapped into one. You're a lucky bird, Cariss'." John rambled.
"Maybe you should date him. You fancy him more than me, I reckon." She smiled cheekily. "For goodness sake, John." She sighed in frustration and fixed his tie for him.
"Hey, what's going on over here?" Paul smiled, stepping into the conversation circle.
"Carissa suggested you and I should date." John informed him, his eyebrows raised and a grin plastered onto his face.
"Riss! That's-that's nutty. I am never dating him." Paul gestured to John.
"Oi! You're lucky if you date someone like me." He protested.
Carissa rolled her eyes. "You have 5 minutes. I suggest you tune your instruments. Also, I was joking, Paul." She laid a hand on his arm in reassurance and she could've sworn she saw Paul's cheeks turn slightly pink.
"See?" John smirked at her, nudging her arm with his elbow.
"John, go get ready!" She scolded him, shooing him off as her cheeks turned pink as well.
Paul came back, his bass slung over him with blushed cheeks. He looked so dishy, making Carissa's cheeks heated.
"So, Riss...after the show, do you fancy a drink? Or we could just walk around. All I know is I'd like to go out with you." Paul smiled at her shyly.
Carissa's heart jumped. "I'd love to, Paul." She beamed.
"Sound. Lovely to hear it, Riss. I'll see you after the show, love." He winked as he was called onto stage and scurried away.
Carissa felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to see John.
"John! Yer on-go, go!" She tried to tell him.
"Oi. Don't get your knickers in a twist. Paulie's growing up so fast, isn't he?" He swiped at nonexistent tears.
"Yup. Sure is. We'll talk later, yeah?" She nodded at him as she rushed him towards the stage.
"Alright, alright. Happy for you, Riss. Knew he'd come around." He winked at her and turned to go on stage.
....
"You lot were fantastic. Especially you, Paulie. You looked proper dishy, out there." Carissa blushed.
Paul blushed, too. "Ta, Riss. Tried my best to look nice." He joked.
"So, want to get out of here?" He looked at her.
"I'd be delighted to." She interlocked his fingers with her's, and he grinned.
"Don't get knocked up!" John yelled to them.
"Twit." Paul shook his head as Carissa's cheeks blushed an even deeper crimson.
"Don't worry, Riss. I'm not that much of a freak." Paul cocked his head at her.
"I trust you." She smiled at him.
"You look so pretty, Carissa." He told her.
"Thank you." She smiled.
"Sorry. I normally don't get flustered around girls." He shrugged.
"Aw, am I special?" She teased.
Paul laughed. "Yes. Very much so." He tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. He looked her in the eyes, then flicked his gaze to her lips.
Both of them leaned in carefully, and their lips touched.
"Ta for the kiss, Carissa. It was very nice." Paul teased.
"Anytime, Paulie. I'm just an inch away." She smiled.
