Two weeks seemed to fly by, and it was time to visit my family. To say that I am was nervous was an understatement. I hadn't been home in so long and to be bringing a boyfriend, well it wasn't like me.
The last guy I didn't even bring home, he was given to me. Kai was the son of my father's best friend. They set our marriage at birth, so we really didn't have a choice. We made the most of it growing up.
Knowing that we would end up together, we explored what life would be like without one another. Enjoyed the company of other people, but in the end as if by fates design, we fell in love with one another.
He was perfect in every way. Tall with sun-kissed skin. A body that would make any woman clinch, and a heart that was big enough to fit the whole world in it. He was perfect. I loved him. I couldn't wait to be his wife.
We dated for a long time before we got engaged, and it was some of the best years of my life. He was always gentle with me. He was the first man to enter my body, and I planned on him to be the last.
So, what he did to me was unforgivable.
"Kennie," I heard JK say my name, jogging me out of my thoughts. "Baby, I think we're here," he said pointing to my parent's home. Looking over at him I nodded my head and smiled.
As he pulled up the half mile long driveway, paved with trees, my heart began to flutter. I missed being on these grounds. Cracking the window, I soaked in the scent of lavender and Jasmine, my mother had them planted all over the property. She knew they were my favorite scents, and always ensured that I could smell them, no matter where I was on the grounds.
"You nervous," he said grabbing my hand as he laced his fingers in mine. Shaking my head, I gave him a subtle smile. Truth was, I was nervous. I didn't know how my family would take him. If they would like him, what my dad would think of the man I fell in love with.
Arriving at the front door, our house aid was standing waiting for me. I missed her. Opening my door, she gave me a giant smile, as she reached out her hands to embrace me in a warm hug.
"Mrs. Anna, I missed you," I said resting my head on her shoulder. Mrs. Anna was my family's personal assistant. She handled all of our affairs, travel, appointments, the home and the grounds. Basically, everything behind the scenes for us. I loved her like an aunt, and we never treated her like an employee. She was family.
"Sweet girl, how are you? I've missed you too," she said making her hug a bit tighter. As she looked over my shoulder, she spotted JK. Pulling me back her grin was evident. Lowering my head I couldn't resist my cheeks from flushing. "Well, are you going to introduce me," she chuckled.
Nodding my head, "JK, this is Mrs. Anna. Mrs. Anna, this is my boyfriend Jungkook."
Walking over to him, she reached out her arms to invite him in for a hug. Squeezing him tight, she patted him on the back. "I've heard quite a bit about you. Have you been good to my Kennie?" she asked in a teasing way. JK blushed and nodded his head as she gave him a warm squeeze to his bicep.
"Mrs. Anna, where are my parents?" I asked as I grabbed my bag from the front seat of the car. I Looked around, but noticed their car wasn't there. They should have arrived according to what my father said. Their flight got back a couple of hours ago.
"Ah, they had to run a few errands before they came home, they should be back within the hour." Gesturing for us to come into the house, JK grabbed the rest of our bags and followed us in.
Home felt like it did the last time I was here. I truly did miss it. Walking in, I set my bag on the floor, and as I turned to help JK, "Kennie," I heard my name and froze in my spot. Why was his voice in my ear and calling my name in my home none the less. I didn't want to turn around, I had to be wrong. I must have been hearing things.
