Magneto, Mystique, and a girl I didn't recognize boarded our ship. I was going to kill Magneto, after what he did to me, what he put me through all those years. Trying to make mortals mutant.
"I love what you've done with your hair Aqua. It brings out the scar on your cheek." Magneto said.
I glared at him and tried to open my jar. Bobby grabbed my hand before I could do anything.
"It's okay. Calm down." He said to me.
John and Magneto were talking, which worried me. And that girl, the one I didn't recognize, was flirting with him. I went into protective sister mode and listened in.
"I'm Arya. Nice to meet you Pyro. I'm the one who replaced Aqua." She said. She flipped her black hair back by creating a little gust of wind. She controlled air. Arya, meaning the wind in the trees, of course! She was very pale and her freckles looked like someone shook a peppershaker on her face.
"Aqua? Oh, Joelie. My sister." John said.
"Your sister?" Magneto asked.
"Yeah, we discovered that a few days ago. We don't always get along, but she balances me out. Fire and water. It works." John said.
I smiled to myself and stopped listening to them. I looked at Nightcrawler. "What is this prophecy you were talking about?"
"'Tears from the Water
Freeze and stay
Unbreakable
Yet bendable
The memories hold the key
To the one who will lead
Water leads to Ice,
But Fire melts it to the original shape.'" He said in a haunting voice."You're kinda freaking me out, but I'm guessing that 'Water' is me, 'Fire' is John, and 'Ice' is Bobby." I said.
Nightcrawler just shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe. It was said that they would have close connections to each other. The fire one is your brother?"
"Yes. My hot-headed brother." I said.
Bobby laughed at my horrible pun. "So punny Jo."
"Aren't I always Icee?" I asked.
Nightcrawler listened to our exchange. "The ice one is your love. Ah, so this truly is the prophecy."
"I- I wouldn't say 'love' Nightcrawler, but we get along.... Very well." I stuttered.
He chuckled and patted my shoulder. "It's okay little one. Now, tell me why that one," he pointed to Magneto, "makes you so angry?"
The memories of being with the Brotherhood came back to me. Everything. The machine to intensify Magnetos' power, Rogue disappearing, and Destiny, my only friend.
"I'll tell you in a minute. Magneto! Where's Destiny? You never go anywhere without her." I asked.
"Oh, your little friend? Well, she'll meet us where we're going." He said. He then turned back to John. "Your sister has quite a temper, doesn't she?"
"Not usually. She's the calm one out of both of us. I've never seen her so fired up." John said, never taking his eyes off of Arya.
I rolled my eyes and looked back at Nightcrawler. His blue skin and his eyes reminded me too much of Mystique. I couldn't look at him for a minute.
"Please don't tell me that you're afraid of me now." He pleaded.
"I'm not. You just, remind me of someone I knew." I said.
"I'm sorry to cause you pain. Why don't you tell me what I asked?" He said.
"Man, you're like a pitbull when you want to know something. Magneto had Mystique kidnap me when I was 13 years old. He then trained me to become a secret weapon. I never wanted to hurt anyone, but I had to. I didn't know much about my powers. I accidently created this jar when I was crying on the first day. I- I was so scared. I remember a machine, and Rogue being badly hurt and Destiny letting me escape and--"
"Whoa, Jo calm down!" Bobby said.
I had opened my jar and the water was creating the scenes while I described them. The next scene was me waking up in the mansion. John, Rogue, and Bobby were there, waiting for me to wake up. When I did, everyone welcomed me and I splashed John. I laughed, and I heard Bobby and Nightcrawler laughing too.
"I remember that. The first day I met you." Bobby said.
"Yeah. That was like waking up from a nightmare." I said.
"I know the feeling." Nightcrawler mumbled.
"Kurt, what's that circle on the back of your neck?" I asked.
"I don't know. It just showed up." He said.
"Joelie, you have a mark too. A perfect circle, right on the back of your neck." Bobby said.
"What?" I touched the back of my neck, sure enough there was a circular scar there.
Before I could ask anymore questions, Jean announced that we were going to land close to the base and camp for the night.
"Jean?" I asked.
"Yes, Jo?" She said in a maternal tone.
"I have a quick favor, can you read my mind? There are some memories I need to access." I said.
"I'll try. No promises though. I'm not the Professor." She said.
After we landed, she put her hands on either sides of my head. "This might hurt."
I closed my eyes. A fragment of a memory came up. I was with Bobby, but I was 6 years old.
"I'm gonna kill you!" He shrieked.
"Why would you do that?" I giggled.
"Because I'm a bad boy!" He yelled.
"I don't think you are." I said. Then I took his hand. "I believe you're a good boy."
Then everything went black.
