I woke up with a smile on my face and quickly got out of my bed. I got my slug slinging clothes on and a messenger bag. I put my blaster and slugs in my bag and grabbed the box that had been sitting in the corner of my room forever.
I excitedly tore a sheet of paper from my sketchbook and wrote a note to Eli and the gang.
Dear Eli, Trixie, Kord, and Pronto,
I have to be somewhere today. So I'm sorry if I can't be there for a distress call or whatever else exciting happens in the hideout. But just know I'll be back later tonight. Don't need to ask any questions. But if you guys are really curious just call me okay?
I promise I'll be back soon.
Riley
P.S. There's a small slice of pizza left in the fridge.
I read my note a couple times and felt satisfied with it. I ran down the stairs excitedly with my box and suddenly stopped in my tracks when I saw Pronto drinking a cup of his favourite tea. What? He must've heard me because he turned around from his seat and looked at me. He had dark circles under his eyes and looked very tired. He sneezed and I cringed.
"Riley? Is that you?" He said in between sniffles.
"Um... Yes! It is me Pronto!" I said while easing closer to him. I was on the ground and walking slowly towards him. He eyed my with suspicion. "But I am only just a figment of your imagination. You see, you're dreaming."
"I'm dreaming?" I nodded slowly, trying to come up with something.
"Uh... Yeah! You, you're really just tired and having a dream. Maybe you should just lie down and take a nap on the couch." Pronto nodded and agreed so I set my box down and led him to the couch. I sat with him for ten minutes, just talking about random things. I wasn't really in a rush.
He had finally fallen asleep so I tiptoed out to the garage with my box and hopped on Topaz. I started my engine and excitedly headed out to the wonderful world of Slugterra.
__________________________"Hey Bart!" I ran into the grocery shop that hadn't changed a bit.
"Riley? Oh my gosh Riley! You're here! Where were you? Man I thought you were abducted. But you look great! I mean healthy and well and stuff so are you here for something, do you need anyth-"
"Bart!" I said and ran up to hug him. "Man I missed you! You won't believe what's happened in the past like few days!"
"Wow has it been only a few days?"
"Yeah! Hey, don't get too excited, but I now reside with the Shane Gang!" Bart's mouth hung wide open.
"For real! Actually?!" I nodded in anticipation. Bart began to murmur to himself and run his fingers through his hair.
"Wow," he muttered, "just, wow! You are so lucky!" I grinned wide and nodded.
"The best part is, I got you a picture with their signatures, and of course my own! Because now I'm officially part of the gang!" Just when I thought Bart's mouth couldn't hang any lower, it hung to the floor. I threw my head back and laughed.
"Wow." I laughed harder.
"I know right! It's insane!" I handed the picture to Bart and he slipped it into his pants.
"So, you want some food?" I smiled at his generosity and nodded.
"Pre-made for on the road. Please." Bart smirked at me and I sat on a crate patiently waiting. I realized that my slugs weren't their happy chirpy loud selves. I looked in my bag and found them all asleep.
