"Favourite food?"

"Can't say I have one."

"Eh, favourite colour?" Riley sat on the couch, becoming bored of the same questions Kord had been pressing on her.

"Kord, you asked that three times already."

"Sorry Riley. You're just so... I dunno. I just can't seem to think of any other questions!" Kord thought for a moment, thinking as hard as he could. "Ah ha! Can we trust you?" He leaned in close to her face, of which she backed up.

"Yes. You 100 percent can. What makes you think that?"

"Did Eli tell you about Twist?" Riley shook her head. "The Surface?"

"The Surface? That sounds interesting." Riley propped her head on her knees and leaned forward. Kord leaned back in his chair, looking worried.

"Eli didn't tell you yet?" Riley shook her head, eager to hear about the Surface. It sounded mysterious. "Oh floppers. Okay well, I've already tested you, and interrogated you. Now it's Eli's turn. Eli!"

There was a bang and a crash as Eli came running down the stairs, half naked wearing a towel on his lower half. For some reason, Riley had to look at her feet. She felt her cheeks warm up. Like, a lot.

Panting, Eli spoke up. "Kord, you always interrupt me at the weirdest times! For example, when I'm taking a shower!"

"Heh heh. Sorry E. She's yours now." Riley looked up and saw that it was only Eli and her in the living room. Gee thanks Kord, she thought.

"Well, where do I start," Eli asked while sitting down on the chair opposite of Riley. Riley shrugged, her eyes avoiding Eli's. She tried averting her eyes to his teeth, then neck and saw some water dripping down to his chest. As her eyes followed- no! Stop this insanity! What is wrong with me, she thought to herself. Riley glanced at Eli who's eyes were looking somewhere else. "I guess I'll start from the beginning." Riley made herself comfortable and sat back, relaxing and ready to listen. Eli looked at Riley, a little nervous, and began.

"So, this might be a little insane, but I'm from the Surface." Riley sat there, face neutral. Eli blinked and continued. "Okay, I know it's a little insane and you might think that I'm hallucinating, but-"

"I believe you."

"It's gonna take some time to-... wait. Did you just say 'I believe you'?"

"Yeah. So go on, continue your story!"

"Right so, I'm from the Surface." Eli paused for a moment, expecting a more dramatic effect like, 'What?! Really?!' "So my dad, Will Shane, was always down here in Slugterra. He would come up and visit my mom and I once in a while. He would come home for the holidays like Christmas, New Years, my birthday." Eli glanced at the floor then back at Riley. "That is, until Burpy came. He was part of my dad's team, until my dad had disappeared. My dad and I had made a promise. I promised that I wouldn't take up slug slinging till I was 15. So from that day Burpy came to deliver the news, I was all pumped up and excited. I couldn't wait to go down to Slugterra. Of course, my dad was supposed to be with me, training and guiding me along the way. But, I guess I'm fine without him. I mean, look where I am today!" Eli spread his arms out, gesturing all around him. "Though, it still would've been better if my dad were here. He would love to meet you." Riley tinged pink and smiled.

"Thanks Eli. Now, continue." Eli talked of all the Shane Gang's adventures. Riley was intrigued by the adventures and fascinated that all those adventures had taken place in HER home. They laughed and talked for another good hour or so.

"W-wait," Riley said between gasps of air. "So there is actually a sun, that floats all by itself, no strings or anything to hold it up. Just floating?" Riley and laughed, as did Eli.
