Riley was awakened by her slugs' chirping. She sat up and rubbed her eyes sleepily. As her eyelids fluttered open, she noticed it was dark in the room. She squinted her eyes, trying to define the shapes of any objects around her to indicate her whereabouts.
Boxes. Boxes. More boxes. Someone sleeping on her chair. Boxes. Boxes. Wait...
Riley quietly crept over to the figure and peered at it. Her heart was racing, in case she was in some sort of prison room. The person mumbled something then turned to it's side, facing Riley.
"Eli?" Eli stirred a bit and had a little drool hanging from his mouth. Riley smirked and tiptoed to the door. She turned the handle slightly, hearing a squeak, then froze. Eli stirred again. Riley let out a long sigh of relief. As the door pushed open, it made the loudest squeak ever heard.
"What?!" Eli woke up, startled, and spotted Riley by the door. He wiped the drool off his mouth with the back of his hand. "Where you heading," he asked while making himself comfy in the chair.
"I'm starving. I was trying to open the door quietly, but it didn't work." Eli nodded understanding what she meant.
"Yeah, I'm hungry too. Let's go downstairs and get something to eat. Before you go back to work." Riley furrowed her brow, not comprehending what he said.
"Go back to work?" Eli nodded then led Riley downstairs to the kitchen. As he poured himself some cereal (let's assume they have cereal, cuz like, what else are you gonna eat for breakfast?), Riley sat on the couch.
"Yeah, you know, you said you could finish you're room within a day or so."
"Oh, right. Well, I'll need some cleaning supplies and stuff. Otherwise, I'm good to go!" Eli held his bowl of cereal and sat on the opposite end of Riley. She got up and headed to the kitchen to make herself some breakfast. Her slugs hopped down the stairs and sat patiently beside Eli.
Eli took notice and rubbed the Arachnet's head gently. "Hey little guys." Each slug chirped it's hello to Eli then engaged a conversation with each other.
"Okay, breakfast is ready!" Riley's slugs all jumped up and down, crowding around her hand holding their slug food. Riley smiled as her slugs ate from her hand. Her Arachnet slug hopped over to Eli with a piece of slug food. It held it out for Eli.
"Oh, is this for me?" It nodded it's head. Eli smiled, a little repulsed.
"Hey little fella, how about we leave Eli in peace, and you eat up. You're gonna need lots of energy!" Riley coaxed. She rubbed the little Arachnet's head and gently scooted him back to where her other slugs were.
"Thanks," Eli said with a sigh. Riley smiled softly then nodded. There was a small silence, but it wasn't awkward or anything. It was one of those peaceful moments. The ones where there is absolutely no sound to be heard. Riley closed her eyes and smiled, imagining a her usual morning. Just sitting outside, listening to the leaves rustle, while her slugs would use her arms like slides. Everything would be quiet, everything would be-
"Food! I smell food!" Riley's eyes opened calmly as Pronto ran down the stairs and saw the plates of scrambled eggs on the counter. There were three, one for Pronto, Kord, and Trixie. Pronto took the initiative to grab a plate and a fork and eat.
"Did I hear food?" Trixie ran down the stairs, in her green pyjamas, and grabbed a plate and a fork and dug in.
"Food!!" And of course, you can't forget Kord. The Gang happily ate their scrambled eggs, all except Eli.
"Good... morning everyone?" Riley's eyebrows went up, surprised everyone was so hungry. Everyone nodded and continued to eat like starved wolves.
"Goo mornin Wiwey a Ewi!" Trixie's mouth was full of scrambled eggs, so it sounded very... distorted.
