I woke in chains, I was immediately saddened, back in the auction house, again.

I looked up, but didn't see the now well known high ceiling and stage, instead I saw cold stone bricks and a large man, who looked vaguely familiar.

He saw that I was awake and proceeded to beat me.

*

Jayda sat in her dad's arms, the TV on showing their favorite movie.

"I'm so sorry Jay, I meant for this to be good for you, but I've done nothing but cause you strife."

She looked up at him,

"It's okay, it's all being taken care of."

*

A cold bucket of water woke me back up, I had gone unconscious from the pain.

I was bleeding all over from the whips and canes, fists and feet, every type of terror I had experienced in the past 10 minutes.

The man waited for about 5 before he started again.

*

Jayda walked to the slave quarters outside the house where she knew Lilli would be, sobbing to Maci about what had happened.

She had always been weak, sentimental, and overly emotional about everything.

Jayda and Maci constantly comforted her as one slave boy to the next was sold away.

She approached the door to find exactly what she expected, she leaned on the frame, waiting for them to acknowledge her presence.

"And Maci I just can't bear to think of losing him!"

Maci looked up from her sister, to see Jayda.

"Miss Jay."

She stood from the bed that the twins shared.

"Stay out of this Maci, it doesn't involve you."

"But Miss-"

"Maci."

Jayda was face to face with her now.

"If you know what's good for you, you will not forget your place."

Maci stepped back and Jayda grabbed the crying Lilli's arm.

"I'm so sorry Jay-"

She was cut off by a slap to the face, Maci let out a small scream from the passage created between the beds.

"Excuse me?"

"Mistress, I'm so sorry mistress."

Jayda hauled the sobbing girl to her feet, and out the door, leaving Maci where she stood.

*

I couldn't see, the pain was too much, I passed out again, the cold water awakened me for a second time, this time, the devices got worse.

A club, a mallet, hot metal pressed to my already burning skin, the man had branded my arm, I started to go again, but not all the way....not yet.

*

Jayda pulled Lilli down the cold damp stairs leading to the basement, she opened the door to find Grey so diligently executing the task she had given him, the slave looked up from where he had been tied. Lilli cried out,

"Hayden!"

Lilli tried to pull out of Jaydas grip, but she was a vampire, her hold could not be broken, not until she was finished, she pulled Lilli close to her.

"Yes Lilli, scream for him, you put him here."

Lilli started to sob, and Jayda released her grip.

The slave girl ran to the battered and beaten boy, grabbing his head in her hands.

"Enough Grey. leave them."

Grey undid the chains holding the boy up and watched him fall into the girls arms.

He did feel bad for them yes, but turned his back to follow his mistress up the stairs.
